Only The Young eliminated on The X Factor

Only The Young have been eliminated from ‘The X Factor’.

The four-piece band made up of Charlie George, 17, Parisa Tarjomani, 20, Betsy-Blue English, 18 and 19-year-old Mike Bromley left the competition this evening (22.11.14) as part of a double elimination, after finding themselves with the fewest number of public votes.

Following the announcement, the group told host Dermot O’Leary: "We’re just so grateful to everyone that’s kept us in the competition so far. All the people that have worked on the show thank you so much, we’ve had an incredible time and this is not the end of Only The Young.

"We’ve had the absolute best time of our lives and we wouldn’t change anything we’ve done."

Earlier in the show, the band performed a rendition of Elton John’s hit ‘Something About The Way You Look Tonight’ as part of the Whitney Houston VS Elton John themed week, but were instantly eliminated following a short voting period.

When asked what the band should be doing next, mentor Louis Walsh gushed: "Getting a record deal and being a massive pop group. It’s all there, and theyre great, great kids to work with."

The band have since tweeted: "Never stop fulfilling your dreams… THANK YOU EVERYONE. This has been the best time of our lives (sic)."

A second act will leave the competition during the results show tomorrow evening (23.11.14).
