One Direction put girlfriends first

One Direction put their girlfriends before their mothers.

The ‘Steal My Girl’ hitmakers – comprising Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne – admit they will rush to see their partners when returning home from tour before visiting their families.

Louis – who is in a relationship with Eleanor Calder – said: "Truthfully, you come home, you make a cup of tea and you see your girlfriend.

"People can scrutinise all they want but everyone would do that.

"Of course, you make time to see your family and friends too."

Zayn – who is engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards – added: "I’m the same. Sorry mum."

And even though he is single, Niall admits there are other things he does before visiting his parents at the end of a long trip away.

He said: "This time, I landed and went straight to bed – I didn’t sleep on the flight.

"Liam and I were talking all night on the plane. We had a sleepover!"

While they may put their girlfriends first, the group do still try and look after their families.

Niall told Britain’s OK! magazine: "I paid off my mum’s mortgage."

Asked if they had done the same, Louis and Zayn – the only other members of the group present – both admitted they also had.
