Olympia Valance was ‘nervous’ about Neighbours return

Olympia Valance felt "really nervous" about returning to ‘Neighbours’.
The 27-year-old actress will reprise her role as Paige Smith for the Australian soap’s 35th anniversary episodes next month, and despite her initial nerves, she loved seeing her co-stars, especially Scott McGregor (Mark Brennan).
She said: "I was really nervous about coming back.
"But I walked back in and was like ‘Pfft, please – she’s back!’
"It’s been so good to see everyone, especially Scotty because he’s one of my best friends."
Olympia admits she was keen to find out what Paige’s plot would be before accepting ‘Neighbours’ producer Jason Herbison’s offer to return.
She added to TV Week: "When Jason came to me and said, ‘We’d really like you back for the 35th year’, I asked, ‘What’s your storyline?’
"Scott was the same. He called me up and asked if I was coming back for the 35th. I said, ‘Yeah, are you coming back?’ We were both just trying to 100 per cent confirm with each other."
Jason recently teased fans the 35th anniversary will be the "biggest event" in the soap’s history.
The Channel 5 show will turn 35 on March 18th, and Jason says there will be some "high drama" in one big storyline, as well as a "warm and nostalgic" narrative.
He said: "The 35th anniversary is by far the biggest event we’ve ever undertaken. Without giving too much away, I can tell you that we have two major narratives taking place.
"One is warm and nostalgic, the other is high drama. Some of the returnees come back for a specific event, others get swept up in it organically, which is lots of fun."
As well as Olympia and Scott, Denise van Outen will also reprise her role as Prue Wallace for the anniversary.
