Olly Murs wants to use his success to help other hopefuls

‘The Voice’ coach Olly Murs visits his old employers every year to thank them for helping him achieve his dreams of becoming a pop star.
The ‘Wrapped Up’ hitmaker had been working as a recruiter at Essex-based recruitment agency Prime Appointments for five years when he auditioned for ‘The X Factor’ back in 2009, going on to finish as the runner-up behind winner Joe McElderry.
Olly, 34, has gone on to be one of Britain’s most successful singers but he has never forgotten his past and he always goes to see his former bosses at the office every Christmas time because he will never forget the people who supported him on his journey.
It his own talent show journey that Olly believes makes him the favourite to be the coach of this year’s winner of ‘The Voice’.
In an appearance on ITV daytime show ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (01.04.19), he said: "This time 10 years ago I was doing call centre work and now I’m giving people advice on ‘The Voice’, a pretty crazy 10 years. It’s been awesome, it’s been amazing, I just want to thank everyone at home for voting for me. I always go back every year to my old recruitment company in Essex. Prime Appointments. I always pop down at Christmas and say hello to all the staff and my old bosses. I’ve had a great 10 years but it’s more the fans, they’ve kept me here so thank you very much."
"I never thought I’d be judging if you had told me then I would have thought it was a wind up. For me it’s come full circle to be able to go back and give people the chance I had. This year I’ve been able to work with two incredible finalists and that’s the reason why I took the job, that’s why I wanted to do it."
Olly has two acts in the final, Molly Hocking and Jimmy Balito, and they are up against Sir Tom Jones’ two hopefuls, Bethzienna and Deana.
The winner will be crowned on the show this coming Saturday (06.04.19) which airs from 8:40pm on ITV.
