Olly Murs: Save Me ‘is a new Murs era’

Olly Murs is entering a new “era” in his pop career.

The 41-year-old star is debuting his new single, ‘Save Me’, during his ongoing tour of the UK, and Olly has suggested that the song is reflective on a new chapter in his career.

The chart-topping singer – who first found fame on ‘The X Factor’ back in 2009 – told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I sing my new single on the tour. It’s called ‘Save Me’.

“It’s a bold statement but the industry has changed so much with streaming, so with this song I wanted to go back to basics. I wanted my fans to hear the song before anyone else.”

Despite this, Olly – who married Amelia Tank in 2023 – actually feels anxious about performing the new song for his fans.

The pop star explained: “It’s been nerve-racking because no one has heard but I’m so confident with the song – I wanted to do it.

“It’s about going on a night out after having a row with the missus and it goes horribly wrong.”

Olly feels excited about the “new Murs era”.

The ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ hitmaker said: “The song is a new Murs era. But I’m secretly excited about it.”

Olly is also determined to deliver value for money for his fans.

The singer has developed a loyal fanbase over the years and he’s promising to give them “fun, music and a laugh” during the tour.

Olly – who is performing at some of the UK’s best known venues during the tour, including The O2 in London – shared: “I’m an entertainer and I want you to have a good time.

“I’d like to think my fans know that when they buy a ticket to come see me, they know what they’re getting – fun, music and a laugh.

“There is a trust I will deliver and I think with some artists, you’re not sure if they are going to turn up and deliver.

“I think what I’ve done over the last 15 years is show people that I can entertain.

“I love doing what I do, and you guys are here with me to enjoy it.”
