Olly Murs cancels Glasgow show after just six songs

Olly Murs was forced to cancel his concert just 20 minutes into the performance on Thursday (22.05.25) night.

The ‘Troublemaker’ hitmaker was on stage for his second show at the Hydro in Glasgow when he apologised to fans and admitted he had to pull the plug because he was struggling with his vocals.

He told the sell-out crowd: “This has never happened to me before but you can hear my voice is going.

“I want to give you the concert you deserve so I can’t go on.

“I’m going to come back, but I need to go now.”

There was a stunned silence and the lights went up before the audience realised the show was coming to an abrupt end.

Olly later took to his Instagram Story to offer a heartfelt apology but insisted it had been the right thing to do.

He said in a video: “Glasgow, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry tonight, I’m so sorry I had to walk off tonight after six songs and cancel the show.

” I’ve never done this in 15 years.

“Most of the time as singers you can kind of get through it if your voice isn’t 100 percent, but I walked out thinking my voice was great.

“Maybe I felt a little bit run down but I didn’t think I couldn’t do the show or I wouldn’t have come out there.

“To walk out after six songs, as I said, I’m so sorry.

“You can hear it from my voice, it just sounded rubbish

“And it’s unfair for you guys who spent all that money to come and see me, you deserve the best show, and me being at my best.

“I’m so sorry from the bottom of my heart.

“Hopefully I can recover from this.

“Gonna see the doctor tomorrow morning so I’ll let you guys know what the plan is.”

Shortly afterwards, the 40-year-old star revealed he was getting ready to see a doctor and promised to share an update as to whether his planned concerts this weekend will be able to go ahead.

He said: “I’ve been told I’m seeing the doctor tonight, which is great.

“So I’ll give you guys an update as soon as I know anything, obviously I’m going to try my absoute best to make these shows possible at the weekend. So sorry for everyone tonight… Gutted.”
