Olly Murs and Caroline Flack for X Factor?

Olly Murs and Caroline Flack are set to replace Dermot O’Leary on ‘The X Factor’.

The ‘Seasons’ hitmaker and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion previously worked together on two series’ of ‘The Xtra Factor’ and are now reportedly being lined up to present the main show following the host’s departure.

An X Factor insider revealed to The Sun newspaper: "Simon has secretly met with Olly and Caroline. They’re all fully on board. Olly is very much the new Dermot. It’s a huge coup because of his music commitments.

"But he feels he owes Simon his entire career because of his time as a show contestant.

"Caroline’s return is unexpected because Simon axed her from ‘Xtra Factor’ in 2013."

Dermot announced his departure from the show following eight years on Friday (27.03.15), saying it is "time for me to move on", although sources suggest the 41-year-old host decided to leave the show after being told he was to be axed.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Dermot has known for a while that his card was marked and show bosses had said they were going to be changing the format and looking for different talent.

"He decided to walk before they could officially axe him."

However, music mogul and head judge Simon Cowell has wished Dermot luck, praising him for his time on the show.

He wrote on Twitter: "Dermot has been an amazing presenter on the X Factor.. He held the craziness together. Most of the time. He is a great guy and a real talent.

"And we will work together on something else. (sic)"
