‘Coronation Street’ actor Oliver Farnworth is "embarrassed" about being labelled a hunk.
The 32-year-old actor, who plays Andy Carver in the ITV soap, has confessed that while he’s "flattered" about being referred to as eye-candy, he’s not entirely comfortable with his new sex-symbol status.
He said: "Being labelled a hunk is flattering but I get a bit embarrassed – I’m a bit bashful."
Oliver claims that although women may lust after his looks, it’s also his character that they find attractive.
Insisting it’s important to have a good personality, he continued: "With anything like this it is partly to do with looks but it is partly to do with your character, the way you treat people and the way you are, the way you behave in public.
"You can look a million dollars and have an eight-pack and perfect teeth and all that. But if you are not personable, if you can’t speak to people in the street and aren’t humble about it, then that is pretty unattractive in itself.
"It is more important to be human and not take the position you are in for granted, because at any given time you could find it taken away."
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star also admitted he’s determined to remain grounded no matter how famous he becomes.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I have met people along the way who have let that kind of thing go to their head, just have quite an out-of-touch view of reality and an out-of-touch way of talking to people. I don’t get it. What goes around, comes around."
