Odeya Rush has been cast in ‘Hunter’s Prayer’.
The 17-year-old actress – who recently starred alongside Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgard in ‘The Giver’ – is set to take on one of the lead roles in the new thriller.
The film – directed by Jonathan Mostow – was previously entitled ‘For The Dogs’ and follows a young girl named Ella, played by Rush, and a would-be assassin – who is initially assigned to murder Ella’s parents before turning good to help her track down and punish the real killer.
Sam Worthington has already signed up to take on the role of the assassin, Lucas, with shooting starting in the UK next month, reports Empire.
Mostow has taken over the project from original director Philip Noyce and will be working alongside screenwriters Paul Leyden, Oren Moverman, John Brancato and Michael Ferris – who adapted the script from Kevin Wignall’s novel.
Meanwhile, Rush is also set to appear in ‘Goosebumps’ alongside ‘School of Rock’ star Jack Black, which is set to hit UK cinemas in July next year.
