Noomi Rapace csst in Brilliance opposite Will Smith


Noomi Rapace will join Will Smith in ‘Brilliance’.

The ‘Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ actress is set to star in the film adaptation of the Marcus Sakey’s novel of the same name, which is set in a world where a small minority of the population is born as ‘brilliants’, people who are gifted with special powers, and a federal agent is tasked with tracking down a terrorist who intends to start civil war.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith has been cast the brilliant agent while Rapace will play a tattooed and pierced brilliant that is identified as a terrorist by the government.

Producer Julius Onah – who recently completed his debut feature ‘Girl in Trouble’ with executive producer Spike Lee – will helm the film while David Koepp penned the script.

Joe Roth, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce, and Palak Patel, Eric McLeod and Alex Hedlund are on board to executive produce.

Meanwhile, Rapace is set to hit the big screen in ‘Child 44’ and ‘The Drop’ later this year, while Smith will star in romantic comedy ‘Focus’ alongside ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ star Margot Robbie which is due for a February 2015 release.
