Noel Gallagher was surprised by the ticket chaos of Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour

Noel Gallagher was “taken aback” by the demand for tickets for the ‘Oasis Live ’25’ reunion tour.

Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher announced in August 2024 that they were putting an end to their 15-year feud for a 2025 stadium tour – the group’s first shows since 2009 – but when the UK and Ireland concerts went on sale, fans experienced lengthy online queues and technical difficulties as over 10 million fans from 158 different countries attempted to get in.

The initial dates sold out within hours with ticket sites struggling to cope with the traffic, while Ticketmaster caused controversy by applying dynamic pricing to the tickets due to the overwhelming demand for the shows,

The band, pledging efforts to prevent ticket reselling at raised prices, partnered with the resale platform Twickets and stated it would cancel any tickets sold for profit elsewhere.

Following the unprecedented demand, Oasis announced extra shows being added and an invitation-only ticket ballot being held for unsuccessful fans.

Noel has now commented on the ticket situation for the first time, admitting even he was stunned by the demand to see Oasis.

Speaking to former NME photographer Kevin Cummins for his new book ‘Oasis: The Masterplan’, Noel said: “I thought it’d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was.”

Noel also revealed his favourite Oasis songs which could be a hint as to what will make it onto the setlist for ‘Oasis Live ’25’.

When asked which track is the one he loves the most, he answered: “Can I have more than one? ‘Supersonic’, ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Star.”

Last month, Oasis revealed that they are set to release a documentary film in conjunction with their ‘Oasis Live ’25 Tour’.

‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight will produce the reuniting Britpop legends’ film, while renowned filmmakers Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will direct. The pair were behind LCD Soundsystem’s concert film ‘Shut Up And Play The Hits’.

Magna Studios – whose credits include ‘Beastie Boys Story’, ‘Gangs Of London’, ‘20000 Days On Earth’, and ‘Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now’ – are heading up the production.

Sony Music Vision has landed distribution rights.

Oasis’ UK and Ireland shows – their only European shows in 2025 – will kick off in Cardiff on July 4 and see them joined by special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast.

The ‘Supersonic’ band will also play USA, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
