Noel Gallagher performs Oasis song in memory of Prince

Noel Gallagher dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to Prince at Glasgow’s Hydro arena last night (21.04.16).
The 48-year-old rocker asked his fans to help him perform his former band Oasis’ song as a tribute to the late music legend, who died suddenly at his Paisley Park estate at the age of 57 earlier in the day.
The ‘If I Had A Gun’ hitmaker said Prince had inspired Oasis’ 2000 album ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’, and hailed him as "one of those giants".
Introducing the track, he also told the crowd: "So, I was in a band once. We had an album called ‘Standing on the Shoulders of Giants’ and one of those giants was Prince. So, you’re going to help me pay tribute to the great man and help me do ‘Live Forever’."
He also had the whole room turned purple in a fitting tribute to the star who is best-known for his song ‘Purple Rain’.
Noel was performing the opening night of his UK tour and later took to Instagram to share how upset he was to hear of Prince’s passing.
He simply wrote: "Heartbroken".
Several pop stars added in tributes to their sets as soon as they heard the sad news yesterday (21.04.16).
Mariah Carey, The 1975 and Mumford & Sons all dedicated part of their shows to the iconic singer.
