Noel Fielding doesn’t eat cake

Noel Fielding doesn’t eat cake.
The 44-year-old comic is unlikely to get stuck into the contestants culinary creations on the ‘Great British Bake Off’ as he tries to avoid sugar because he claims he wouldn’t get work if he put on weight.
The show’s new host told the Sunday Times magazine: "It’s not that I don’t like cake… I have a very sweet tooth. But I was playing Alice Cooper and I had to lose a stone, so I wasn’t eating sugar.
"You can’t get straight back onto sugar, it’s a very powerful thing.
"I get more work when I’m thinner, so I can’t put on weight.
"No one likes a tubby gut. I don’t eat anything, I’m like a plant."
And Noel’s co-presenter, Sandi Toksvig, didn’t know what she was getting into when she signed up to join him in fronting the revamped show as he revealed she had "never seen ‘Bake Off’".
Asked her favourite ever episode, Sandi admitted: "The one where they make cake? I don’t watch a lot of television; I’m more of a reader."
Joining Paul Hollywood as a judge on the show – which has moved to Channel 4 – is Prue Leith and she admitted she "thought twice" about accepting the job because of her healthy eating ideals.
She told the publication: "I really thought twice about accepting Bake Off… but I reasoned that, actually, baking is the best way to get people into general cooking.
"And that’s what we need the nation to do: to get interested in the kitchen.
"Even if you don’t allow yourself to eat too much cake, you still like drooling over it."
