No rivalry for Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden

Alesha Dixon says she and Amanda Holden will never be rivals.
The 41-year-old ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star is preparing to return to TV screens with fellow judges Simon Cowell, 60, David Walliams, 48, and Amanda, 49, and Alesha has no time for talk of a rivalry between her and Amanda.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "From day one, when I joined the show, Amanda and I sat down together and we made a pact that we would have each other’s backs and stick together.
"We have daughters and we want to set a good example. And we’re grown women. In the past, there have been shows where the women are pitted against each other and fortunately, that’s not in our nature.
"From day one, Amanda and I made it very clear we weren’t going to play that game and over the years we have built a friendship and we’ve got respect for one another.
"We naturally turn to one another and we tend to sit and have a gossip about everything and anything.
"We speak all the time, it’s a very natural friendship."
Amanda is mother to Alexa, 14, and Hollie, eight, with husband Chris Hughes, while Alesha has Azura, six, and Anaya, seven months with her spouse Azuka Ononye.
And Alesha is excited about the return of ‘BGT’ to screens as she believes people need "a bit of silliness" during the Covid-19 pandemic.
She explained: "The fact that people can’t leave their home, I hope BGT is going to be a welcome treat into people’s homes. I think it’s needed at this time.
"We all need a bit of silliness, we need escapism, we need to laugh and we need to just forget about the troubles from the day and just enjoy ourselves."
