Nile Rodgers and CHIC to join Cher on tour

Nile Rodgers & CHIC will join Cher on her American and Canadian tour next year.
The ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ hitmaker has decided to hit the road for the first time in five years in 2019 after being inspired by her cameo appearance in ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ earlier this year and has called on her good friends to support her.
Taking to his Instagram account, Nile, 65, said: "To all our friends in the #US and #Canada get ready to do the CHIC CHER in 2019!
"@nilerodgers & @thechicorganization are joining forces with the incomparable @CHER at an arena near you! #itsabouttime (sic)"
Cher’s tour appropriately titled ‘Here We Go Again’ will feature some of her biggest hits including ‘Believe’ and ‘Walking in Memphis’ and songs from her ABBA-themed album ‘Dancing Queen’, which will be available to download from September 28.
The 72-year-old legendary singer will kick off ‘Here We Go Again’ in Florida on January 17 before making her way across the country and concluding in Minnesota in May.
The music icon also recently teased that she may bring her tour across to the UK in the near future as she has so many fans across the pond who value her music.
Asked if she’d tour the UK, she said: "I hope so, this country is so special to me."
But, regardless of whether she does make it across to the UK, Cher has no plans to retire and has admitted she would like to go into directing once her music slows down.
She explained: "I know actors always say this – I’d like to direct a film, because I love actors and I think I have perspective. I do write. Everyone says it, but I think I would do a good job. I would enjoy it and I think I would be good at it."
