Sophia Bush is "so happy" that Ian Somerhalder has got engaged to Nikki Reed.
The 32-year-old actress – who is friends with the ‘Vampire Diaries’ star – thinks "it’s fantastic" that he proposed to the ‘Twilight Saga’ actress over the festive season after six months of dating.
Asked about his recent engagement, she said: "I’m just so happy for him. It’s fantastic! He’s such a good dude, she’s awesome. It’s like you couldn’t hope for anything more for your friends, you know?"
Meanwhile, Nikki’s former co-star Peter Facinelli also hopes to be invited to the couple’s upcoming wedding despite not knowing about her engagement.
He told E! News: "She didn’t even tell me! I’m texting her right now. Congratulations Nikki, you know I love you. I’m gonna be the first one sitting in the aisle with tears in my eyes."
A source recently revealed that Ian, 36, who previously dated his co-star Nina Dobrev, had "been in love with [Nikki] for years" before they took their friendship to the next level last summer.
The insider added: "They’re so happy. They were crazy happy from the start. Their families love each other. It just feels really right."
Nikki recently finalised her divorce from Paul McDonald, whom she split from last March.
The former couple got married in October 2011 after just seven months of dating.
