Nigel Havers’ wife hate Coronation Street smooches

Nigel Havers’ wife didn’t like watching his kissing scenes in ‘Coronation Street’.
The soap star – who played charming con-man Lewis Archer on-and-off from 2009 until his final exit earlier this year – was seen smooching on the street much to the displeasure of his spouse Georgiana Bronfman but he managed to smooth things out by introducing his wife to Sue Nichols, who plays his on-screen flame Audrey Roberts in the ITV soap.
Appearing on ‘Loose Women’, he said: "I’ve been a snogger in my time – she’s not mad on me snogging Audrey, but I introduced them so it’s fine now!"
Nigel was appearing on the daytime show on Wednesday (06.11.19) on what was his 68th birthday, and admitted he isn’t a fan of getting older, and joked he was dressed in black to "mourn" another year.
Asked if he enjoys birthdays, he quipped: "Not really – I’m in black. I’m mourning my birthday.
"When you hit 50 – or in my case 40 – I didn’t really want to recognise birthdays from thereon in. I don’t want to be old! I just want to remain 38."
Despite approaching 70, the actor is keeping busy – with his upcoming annual pantomime stint seeing him tread the boards over the festive season – and he teased the possibility of a ‘Corrie’ return despite recently leaving the cobbles a decade after his debut.
Although Lewis was killed off with a heart attack, Nigel hopes there could be a way for him to return, even suggesting the idea of a secret twin.
He added: "I’d always go back. I absolutely love doing it. The people are so nice, and the storylines are so amazing. It’s a joy to do… I call myself a letterbox actor, which means [I’ll do] anything that comes through the letterbox."
