Nicki Minaj splits from Nas

Nicki Minaj has split from Nas.
The ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker had been dating the 44-year-old rapper – who has daughter Destiny, 23, with former girlfriend Carmen Bryan and son Knight, eight, with ex-wife Kelis – since June 2017 but they have decided to call time on their romance as they were living in different cities and found it hard to find the time to be together.
Sources told TMZ the former couple still "respect" one another so won’t be lashing out publicly, but they are unlikely to remain friends or continue to hang out.
Nas now plans to focus his attention on his record label and chicken and waffles eatery Sweet Chick, while Nicki, 35, has a number of business ventures that she’ll be concentrating on.
It was previously claimed the former couple FaceTimed one another "every day" and were "constantly" texting in order to stay in contact during their lengthy periods of separation.
Meanwhile, the ‘Super Bass’ singer recently revealed she takes regular social media breaks because she thinks being online can be "unhealthy".
She said: "I’ve always been very active with my fans, and so they expect me to speak to them when I put out something new.
"They expect me to ask their opinions, and they’re usually really excited when something comes out so they wanna have the chance to express themselves, and I like to give them that opportunity.
"But there are times where I take social media completely off my phone.
"I think that it’s important to deactivate sometimes and unplug yourself from the matrix, because as great as it’s been for my career, it can be unhealthy to certain people as well.
"If you don’t know how to control your emotions, if you don’t know how to think before you speak, it can also get you in a lot of trouble."
