Nick Knowles is penning Hollywood blockbuster

Nick Knowles is writing a Hollywood blockbuster.
The ‘DIY SOS’ star has decided to swap his handyman skills for a pen and paper as he throws all of his attention into his new "multi-million pound" big screen project.
Speaking to the Daily Express newspaper, he said: "I’m writing a multi-million pound blockbuster historical period drama movie for a Hollywood studio."
The 53-year-old old hunk was given his big break after he was approached by a big US production company after his first film ‘Golden Years’, which he penned with John Miller, proved a hit at the film festivals in Cannes and Beijing.
He explained: "We showed ‘Golden Years’ in Cannes and Beijing where it went down a storm and we were approached by a US studio to write this history drama."
‘Golden Years’ follows a group of delusional old age pensioners who decide to burgle a number of banks, but Nick has hinted that his next film will be a bit grittier.
He said: "I’ve been in Mauritius, where the film is set, negotiating with the government about the film, meeting with the president of the board of investment. It’s expected to go into production at the end of next year."
However, despite regularly being seen on screen with a hammer in one hand and a paintbrush in the other, Nick is no stranger to writing historical dramas.
He said: "I wrote seven comedy history dramas for the BBC called ‘Historyonics’, which did amazingly well and are still passed around schools by history teachers."
Meanwhile, he certainly has a lot on his plate at the moment as he split from his wife Jessica Moor in January but was adamant they’d remained friends for the sake of their two-year-old son Eddie.
However, since then, Jessica has found out she’s battling with cervical cancer and Nick has been by her side ever since to help her get through the illness.
Jessica said recently: "He’s still there for me but it’s hard. I’m really sad we split. We’re really amicable. He’s still my best friend. I have so much respect and time for him.
"It’s been hard not being part of a couple. To not be able to lie next to the person you were with for eight years and tell them what you’re going through and how you’re scared."
