Nick Knowles apologises for budgie smugglers on I’m A Celebrity

Nick Knowles has publicly apologised for wearing his red budgie smugglers on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 56-year-old television presenter – who is best known for his work on ‘DIY SOS’ and ‘Who Dares Wins’ – has said he’s sorry for walking around the jungle in a pair of revealing red pants, claiming that it was the only thing he had to wear.
He spoke to ‘This Morning’ today (07.12.18) and said: "Can I publicly apologise for the red budgie smugglers. It was literally all I had to wear!"
Nick became the sixth celebrity to leave the jungle this series, as he lost out on a place in this weekend’s final during Thursday’s (06.12.18) episode of the ITV reality competition.
Nick follows in the footsteps of TV legend Noel Edmonds, ‘Hollyoaks’ star Malique Thompson-Dwyer, ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sair Khan, actress Rita Simons, and ‘The Chase’ quiz brain Anne Hegerty, who have all been kicked out of camp since voting opened last week.
He admitted that he liked keeping himself busy in the jungle and says that he ran a laundry service for his camp mates by making a washing line from old sheets.
He said: "It was a sheet that I had ripped into strips – it turned out to make this really amazing rope. It had been raining for like two days straight and nobody had any clothes.
"I was stuck in camp with nothing to do. So I made a rope – and it worked, which amazed me more than anybody else! So I managed to get everyone’s clothes dry during the day. It was like I was running a laundry all day!"
Now, just five camp mates – Harry Redknapp, Fleur East, Emily Atack, James McVey, and John Barrowman – are left battling it out for a place in Sunday’s (09.12.18) final, where one celebrity will be crowned King or Queen of the jungle.
