Niall Horan wants to invite Queen Elizabeth to a One Direction concert.
The 20-year-old heartthrob was among the stars who met the monarch at a special event in Buckingham Palace yesterday (25.03.14) to mark the contributions of Irish people in Britain – ahead of Irish president Michael D Higgins’ state visit to the country next month – and is considering extending an invitation to her to see him at work.
He quipped to the Daily Express newspaper: "I might ask her if she wants to come to a show.
"It’s an absolute honour to be here with two great countries coming together. I couldn’t believe it when I got the invitation. To have met Her Majesty again was a great experience."
Irish ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh exchanged a few words with the 87-year-old monarch, too.
He said: "We talked about her visit to Ireland, she said she had a wonderful time and that she’d love to come back again. She said she thought she picked the perfect moment to come while Mary McAleese was still president.
"I didn’t ask if she watches ‘The X Factor’ but I think she might be watching ‘Strictly Come Dancing’."
A palace spokesperson said of the event: "It was a really fun evening – great company and extremely relaxed. Her Majesty seemed to enjoy the craic."
