Neil Young invites Donald Trump to one of his shows amid his feud with Bruce Springsteen

Neil Young has invited President Donald Trump to attend one of his concerts in the US after showing his support for Bruce Springsteen amid his feud with the world leader.

Trump, 78, was left furious after The Boss, 75, hit out at the “corruption” and “incompetence” of the Trump administration during a recent concert in Manchester, and Trump responded with a lengthy rant via his social media platform Truth Social.

Trump blasted Springsteen as a “pushy, obnoxious JERK”.

Springsteen made three separate rants against the “corruption” and “incompetence” of the Trump administration.

After opening the gig with a performance of ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’, the ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ hitmaker told the audience: “It’s great to be in Manchester and back in the UK. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour! The mighty E St. Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll in dangerous times.”

A short while after, several musicians spoke out in support of Springsteen, including Young, who insisted he wasn’t “scared” of Trump.

He penned on his Neil Young Archives site: “Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin’ kids in Gaza. That’s your problem. I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.”

Speaking in a new blog entry this week, he said: “When I tour the USA this summer, if there is not martial law by then which would make it impossible, let’s all come together and stand for American values.

“We will not be doing a political show. We will be playing the music we love for all of us to enjoy together.”

Inviting the president to his show, he said: “President Trump, you are invited. Come and hear our music just as you did for decades.”

Doubling down on his support for his fellow musician, he added: “Bruce Springsteen and many others will be in our country this summer, there for you, playing your favourite music, songs like ‘Born in the USA’. We are proud to be who we are, and must never let our government forget it.”

Canadian-US citizen Young recently admitted he’s worried Trump will stop him entering the US as he’s been so critical of the controversial world leader.

In another blog post on his website, he penned: “If you say anything bad about Trump or his administration, you may be barred from re-entering USA. If you are Canadian, if you are a dual citizen like me, who knows? We’ll all find that out together.”

Young became a dual citizen in 2020.

That year he also sued Trump for using his song ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ during his campaign rallies.
