Neil Jones wants spot on SAS: Who Dares Wins

Neil Jones wants to sign up for ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’.

The 38-year-old professional dancer is hoping to land a spot on the Channel 4 survival show – which follows chief instructor Ant Middleton and a group of ex-Special Forces – after his cousin, who is in the Special Forces, advised him to take part.

He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "My cousin says, ‘Neil, you need to do the show. You would kill everything’, because I used to train with my cousin.

"I love shows like that, pushing you to the edge, someone screaming in your face – that reminds me of childhood."

Ant and his team – including officers Jason Fox, and Ollie Ollerton – recreate the Special Air Service’s gruelling selection process, testing the physical and psychological resilience of the participants.

Neil would be following in the footsteps of ex-‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-star Brendan Cole, who took part in ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ in May.

The 44-year-old dancer was reportedly "fuming" after he was axed from the programme and wasn’t prepared to leave quietly.

An insider previously said: "Brendan was absolutely fuming to get culled because he believed he would pass the course. He thought it was a real kick in the balls after all the hard work he had put in across the week."

The latest series saw Katie Price, Helen Skelton, Joey Essex and other celebrities face their biggest fears on the freezing cold Scottish island of Raasay.

However, Channel 4 bosses are planning to move filming to a warmer location, which host Ollie thinks will be the ultimate test.

He said: "The UK will be wanting to film the next ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ [after lockdown]. I think to be honest we are pushing for somewhere warm next time, so that would be a preference, for sure.

"We are doing a version for Australia, or we were, hopefully that is going to get renegotiated. It should be going forward. I think I’d like to go somewhere like Bora Bora, French Polynesia."
