Nathalie Emmanuel joins The Scorch Trials cast

Nathalie Emmanuel has joined the cast of ‘The Maze Runner’ sequel, ‘The Scorch Trials’.

The British actress, who stars in the popular HBO show ‘Game of Thrones’ and is set to appear in ‘Fast and Furious 7’, has joined the likes of Dylan O’Brien and Will Poulter for the second film in the series.

The Hollywood reporter says the 25-year-old star will feature in the role of Harriet, who leads a group of girls from a maze and takes them to a group led by O’Brien.

Emmanuel – whose character features in the second and third instalments of the book series – will also be joined on screen by Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland, who are among the newest recruits to the film franchise.

Last month, 20th Century Fox confirmed that the sequel to ‘The Maze Runner’ has been given a release date of September 18, 2015.

The film studio announced the news on Twitter, saying: "Huge news! Scorch Trials, sequel to #MazeRunner, will arrive Sept. 18, 2015. (sic)"

The first of the films – which are based on the novels of James Dashner – topped the US box office, taking in more than $32 million.
