Natalie J Robb opens up about lockdown ‘wobbles’ and ‘making up’ with boyfriend Jonny McPherson

Natalie J. Robb admitted she and her boyfriend Jonny McPherson have experienced some "wobbles" during lockdown, but the making up has been "fantastic".

The ‘Emmerdale’ actress has opened up about dating her co-star – who portrays Dr Liam Cavanagh in the ITV soap – and revealed they only got together in January, but the pair have seen plenty of each other in the past three months.

Natalie – who plays Moira Dingle – said: "Jonny McPherson and I started to see each other. Our first date was in mid-January, and then we were just having a couple of dates in February and then obviously in March lockdown happened.

"We were together at the time that Boris Johnson announced it. So we were like, ‘Oh.’

"He’s been kind of staying with me, and then they were saying, ‘Yes, it could be three weeks. Yes, it might be six weeks.’ I was like, ‘Oh, OK.’

"We just kind of evolved. We did a charity where you go out with children who have cancer and you take them to Lapland.

"We were on that, and it’s a day trip, so you’re there and back in a day, and from then on we just sort of got to know each other better.

"I mean I’ve worked with him and things, but I’ve got to know him better and just went on from there. A few text messages and things like that.

"We went out for a meal and the rest is history.

"We’ve had a few wobbles, I’m not going to lie … but the making up was fantastic."

Natalie and her co-stars resumed filming on ‘Emmerdale’ recently, but the former ‘Dream Team’ actress admitted the new health and safety measures, put in place due to the pandemic, have made it feel like "the soul has gone out of it a bit".

Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she added: "It is very strange.

"Our producer has implemented the two-metre distancing rules, and they’re taking it very, very seriously for everyone’s safety and so we can continue filming.

"But it’s like a little bit of the soul has gone out of it a bit. But I’m sure in time we’ll get used to it."
