Naga Munchetty joins Strictly Come Dancing

Naga Munchetty has joined this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The BBC newsreader has become the ninth celebrity confirmed to take part in the forthcoming series of the Ballroom and Latin show.
She said: "I was so surprised to be asked to take part – I never thought I’d have the courage to say yes, but it would be simply silly to turn down the chance to learn to dance with a professional."
And, although she’s nervous about slipping into her skin-tight crystal-embellished gowns and hitting the dance floor on national television, the 41-year-old journalist can’t wait to start training.
She explained: "I’m going to give it my very best and enjoy what’s bound to be a great adventure. I am equally excited, nervous and scared – I can’t wait to start training!"
Naga – who has been a regular presenter on BBC ‘Breakfast’ since 2009 – may not have experience when it comes to booty-shaking and hip-snaking but she’s no stranger to competitive television as she won quiz show ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ in 2013.
Meanwhile, Naga may be filled with tonnes of confidence ahead of the new series next month but she’ll certainly have some stiff competition as Will Young, former ‘Hollyoaks’ hunk Danny Mac, Ed Balls, Louise Redknapp and Laura Whitmore are also determined to put up a strong fight in order to lift the famous Glitterball trophy.
The rest of the official line-up is set to be released in due course ahead of the return of the series on BBC next month.
