Miley Cyrus is putting the "finishing touches" to her new music.
The 22-year-old star has teased she has almost completed work on her eagerly-anticipated fifth studio album, almost two years after she released 'Bangerz', which spawned singles 'Wrecking Ball' and 'We Can't Stop'.
In a selfie posted on Instagram along with her producer and ex-boyfriend Mike Will Made It, she wrote: "Finishinnnggggg toucheZzzzz @mikewillmadeit (sic)."
The controversial musician made the post just hours after the producer premiered the video for his new single 'Drinks on Us' - taken from his 'Random' mixtape - in which Miley is seen heading into a club and smoking a suspicious looking cigarette with him.
Meanwhile, Miley's recent cover story with the September issue of Marie Claire magazine suggested she is planning on giving away her new record for free, with the singer adding she only makes music because she enjoys it.
She said: "I make [music] because I like it.
"And then I put it out to the public because there are some people out there who like it, too."
And her manager Adam Leber added: "Miley's not driven by dollars. She makes her own path. Once upon a time, that's what most artists did. Now, people like Miley are few and far between."
Back in June, Mike Will Made It updated fans on the progress of the record, saying they had completed "eight or ten songs".
He said at the time: "We've got like eight or ten songs recorded, so we're just gonna pick the best songs to go on the album.
"It should be interesting though. Her whole sound is switching up, you know what I'm saying? It's crazy."

Charli XCX is planning to write for Rita Ora's new album.
The 23-year-old star enlisted her pal's help for a verse on her single 'Doing It' and she is now planning on repaying the favour by helping Rita, 25, with her second studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.
Asked if they're going to be working together again, Charli explained: "Yeah we've spoken about a couple of songs. Maybe not me featuring but writing together and that kinda thing. That's really exciting and I think she's going to make a really great record. She's definitely taking time to really put herself into it and make it the best she can."
Meanwhile, the 'Boom Clap' hitmaker is currently hard at work on her own third studio album while on tour around the US and has promised fans it will be "really weird" and out next year.
She said: "The next stuff will have to be really weird! It's going to be totally different.
"Hopefully it will be released next year, I'm working on it now but really at the beginning stages of vagueness."
And although she loves entertaining crowds, she does sometimes feel guilty while on the road because it means her diet consists mainly of unhealthy Italian treats.
She told Ticketmaster: "Home is all over the place now. It's everywhere and nowhere really. The worst thing about touring is probably when you eat pizza every single day. Well that's not actually that bad, I love it but technically it's bad."

Skrillex and Diplo have recorded "an album worth of material" with members of Arcade Fire.
The duo - who go by the name of Jack Ü - popped into the studio with singer Win Butler and his wife and fellow band member Régine Chassagne while on tour in Canada in July and although they originally claimed not to have made music together, they have now revealed their short session created enough music to make an LP.
Skrillex said: "We just jammed on live instruments for 45 minutes and probably made an album worth of material."
Diplo, 36, played down the claims slightly by insisting they only played together for 20 minutes, but hinted the session may lead to a release as he has been working with the material they recorded.
He explained: "We [Skrillex and I] were recently on tour together in Canada.
"We went to Montreal, and we had a day with Arcade Fire. A friend of mine was there, and we just said 'Hey, let's go meet up with you guys'. We went to his garage and just literally played for 20 minutes, just everybody on an instrument. I got the files from them, and now I edit it down these loops in little pieces."
Pleased with his progress, the 'Lean On' hitmaker said he is planning to head back into the studio with both Skrillex and Win.
Speaking on Charlie Rose's PBS chat show, he added: "I'm probably going to go back to Montreal with the lead singer Win and maybe Sonny (Skrillex) and record vocals on it."

Selena Gomez has described Taylor Swift as "an incredible inspiration".
The 'Good For You' singer has gushed about her best friend and insisted they are always extremely supportive of each other, which led to Taylor crying at the American Music Awards last year because she was "so proud" of her pal's emotional performance.
She explained: "Taylor's just been such an incredible inspiration and she's just like one of my biggest supporters and I don't think people know that as much as they think that she is.
"She has always wanted to see me find what makes me different and never forced her opinion too much; she would just tell me what she believed and what she thinks I should do and I've known her for eight years!
"So it's something that we've always kind of been in tune with and at the AMAs when I performed 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' she was like sobbing backstage and she's like, 'I'm so proud of you, that was everything I always wanted people to see about you', and it's just like really cool. She's incredible."
The 23-year-old singer recently finished working on her new album 'Revival', due later this year, but revealed Chris Brown got in touch once it was complete so they couldn't record together.
However, she did tease they may still collaborate at a later date.
Speaking to Manchester's Key 103 radio station, she added: "Well it's funny, we actually just kind of recently got in touch. So the album is done
"I'm such a huge Chris Brown fan. He's known that. I've known him throughout the years but if there's an opportunity for us to do something later, of course because he's so... I think he's so talented, you know?"

Sir Patrick Stewart is making music with Taylor Swift.
The 'X-Men' actor has teamed up with the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker to produce and appear on his first pop music project, which will be an album of him covering the pop star's hits.
Patrick, 75, was approached by Taylor after the singer witnessed him and his 'X-Men' co-star Sir Ian McKellen doing hilarious readings of her song lyrics last month.
The stage and movie actor gave a dramatic rendition of 'Blank Space' whilst Ian, 76, recited lyrics from 'Bad Blood'.
Patrick enjoyed the moment so much he immediately took to Twitter and asked Taylor to accept him and Ian into her "squad".
He wrote: "So IanMcKellen recited Bad Blood and I did Blank Space. May we join the squad, @taylorswift13? (sic)"
The chart-topper was keen to thank the British knights and replied: "You've made my day. You two are the ultimate squad goals".
Soon after Patrick read a dramatic version of Taylor's 'Style' from her '1989' album on US show 'Entertainment Tonight' and it has now been confirmed that he passed the audition and will lend his booming voice to an album of her songs.
Despite his best efforts, the star has confessed the results could be "ridiculous", according to the Daily Star newspaper.
The 'Star Wars: The Next Generation' actor isn't the only star to be covering the 25-year-old singer's work, after Ryan Adams revealed he is also covering all of the tracks from her most recent album, '1989'.

Azealia Banks has accused Diplo of owing her £12,780 ($20,000).
The '212' hitmaker has embarked on an online ranted aimed at the producer, insisting he still owes her a considerable amount of money as a result of their lawsuit last year for their 2012 collaboration 'F**k Up the Fun', which was allegedly stolen from Dutch DJ MasterD.
In the tweets, which have since been deleted, she raged: "@Diplo I don't need your advice. I just want your beats. If no beats then go away.
"Yes, and passing off beats to me that aren't yours and leaving me to foot the bill when we get sued is also not cool @diplo
"@diplo you owe me $20,000 by the way.
"@diplo I really don't understand why my name is in your mouth at all. Didn't you say you never wanted to work with me again ? (sic)"
The strange tirade of abuse seemed to come out of nowhere as Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, has not recently mentioned the 24-year-old rapper.
Meanwhile, Azealia - who surprise released her debut album 'Broke with Expensive Taste' through Prospect Park Records last November after ending her record deal with Interscope and Polydor - recently revealed she won't be able to release any new music until February 2016 after further troubles with management and labels.
Earlier this month, she tweeted: "So prospect park has me for management and Label (stupid azealia, right) now Jeff kwatinetz no longer wants to manage me BUT...
"is holding me in my album contract until february 2016. so..... there won't be any new music until March 2016. sorry guys. 🙁 (sic)."

Ella Eyre wants to "record at least five albums".
The 21-year-old singer - whose debut album 'Feline' is set for release later this month - has admitted she wants to have a long career in both the music and acting industries.
She said: "I started out doing musical theatre at school, realising I loved to sing when I played Tallulah in 'Bugsy Malone'. I'd like to do more acting, record at least five albums, and write lots more - I want to be in the industry in 30 or 40 years time.
"I've written more than 300 songs. Some have sold in Japan and Europe, while others get big here, like 'Changing', which was a number one for Sigma and Paloma Faith."
The 'Gravity' singer also revealed she's inspired by the late Amy Winehouse - who died in 2011 - as she too wrote songs about personal experiences.
Ella told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Amy is one of my biggest influences. Not only was her voice incredible, but also her music is so tragic and relatable. I like to write only about things that have happened to me, so her songs are an inspiration."
