Black Sabbath will not make any more studio albums.
Frontman Ozzy Osbourne has scrapped plans to follow up 2013's number one LP '13' and will supposedly call an "end" to Sabbath on 21 September 2016, when they play their final concert in Phoenix.
Ozzy, 66, told The Pulse of Radio: "We were gonna do one [album] before the tour, but I'm 67 in December, it would take three or four years to write and record an album. And so we decided just to do a farewell tour. If we did an album and it went to No. 2, people would go, 'It's over.' There's only one more place you can go after No. 1 and that's No. 2, you know."
However, Ozzy insists just because Black Sabbath are getting ready to put a full stop on their legendary career it doesn't mean he won't ever play live again with bandmates Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi.
The 'Paranoid' hitmaker told the New Orleans Times-Picayune: "It's the end of Sabbath, believe me.
"In December, I'll be f***ing 67 and I think it's time to call it the end of the day. I'm not saying I won't get on stage with Geezer or Tony (Iommi) or any of them some time, but officially we're going to be done."
Ozzy also said he's not motivated to tour just to make money and when he steps back from touring he will instead focus on his solo projects, such as taking his festival OZZFest to Japan.
He added: "I don't want it to dwindle and dwindle and play just for the sake of making another f***ing sack full of cash. So it's time, and then I'll go back to doing my own thing."

Ellie Goulding's new song is inspired by her best friend.
The 28-year-old singer has unveiled 'Army' today (30.10.15) and has revealed the track is about her pal of 10 years who has stood by her through life's twists and turns.
Ellie admits her past songs have always been about relationships with boys and not the person who has been there for her throughout it all and she wanted to put it right.
In open letter to her fans, Ellie revealed: "I realised that I had focused a lot of writing on past relationships and it hit me I had never written about my best friend. The person I met in college over ten years ago. The person who was at my very first gig. The person who has seen me at my lowest and the first person I call in muffled sobs when something bad happens."
The blonde beauty hopes the song is a reflection of their "honest" and "electric" friendship.
She continued: "We've been deliriously happy together, deliriously tired and deliriously sad together. I wanted to show our friendship for what it really is- honest, real, electric.
"I think about the times we drink together until neither of us can stand. The laughing at our own ridiculousness and foolishness. Comparing our trials and errors; over-thinking our break ups and new loves, remembering everything we've been through to get to this point and being so proud of it."
The 'On My Mind' hitmaker added that when they are in each other's company she feels like she's "standing with an army", which is why she chose the track's title.
She added: "Two girls from Hereford trying our best in the City. We open our hearts up and take risks, but together we are more powerful than ever. We are challenged every day but we see it through and sometimes it feels like we can conquer anything. When I'm with you, I'm standing with an army."
'Army' is being released early with all pre-orders of her forthcoming LP 'Delirium', which comes out on November 6.

Rita Ora was joined on stage by her 'X Factor' finalists Lauren Murray and Kiera Weathers at the KISS Haunted House Party in London on Thursday night (29.10.15).
The 'Body On Me' hitmaker performed in front of a crowd of zombies, vampires and witches at the sell-out fancy dress concert at the SSE Wembley Arena and brought out two of her three acts to sing harmonies with her during her energetic set.
Speaking after her performance, Rita revealed it was a "special" moment to sing with Lauren and Kiera - unfortunately third finalist Louisa Johnson could participate because she's on vocal rest
She said: "It was amazing, I just felt like I was at home. It's so crazy kind of filming a TV show and then kind of being on stage. I loved it and that's why I wanted to invite my two finalists. I have three but one of them is on vocal rest, but I wanted to kind of invite them out here to get a feeling of what it's like. They had a great time so it was a special moment."
Other performances at the gig came from Rudimental, Krept and Konan, Jess Glynne and Little Mix.
The girl group performed a trio of hits, including 'Salute!' and 'Love Me Like You', and were dressed as rockers KISS in black leather complete with the band's their trademark face paint.
The four girls - Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - praised the fancy dress efforts of the crowd, shouting in unison, "Look at the Joker! Loving the pumpkin. Now we're going to teach you a little spell," before standing in formation to sing 'Black Magic'.
Jess captivated the crowd with a hairstyle of devil horns and a booming vocal performance of 'Hold My Hand' and 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself'.

Guy Garvey hasn't "turned" his back on Elbow.
The singer and guitarist is heading out on a tour of the UK and Ireland next month with his first ever solo album, titled 'Courting The Squall', but is adamant his band - who released the number one album 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' just last year - is still very much his priority.
He shared: "I've not turned my back on the lads. I thought I could fit another album in between Elbow records.
"The boys needed time with their kids, I asked if they minded and they were all fine. I needed their approval. I didn't consider the record finished until I sent it to them. They've been really supportive."
He added: "I'm most looking forward to seeing my Elbow bandmates in the audience. I was out with ( Elbow bassist) Pete Turner and he was threatening to put me off when I play ... he was the one who said I should tour. He said I'd regret it if I didn't, as it's such a good record."
Despite the support of Pete, Richard Jupp, and brothers Craig and Mark Potter, the 'One Day Like This' singer admits his old pals "wouldn't be into" some of the songs on his LP.
He told The Sun newspaper: "There are things on this record that would never end up on an Elbow record. Stuff the lads wouldn't be into ... the synth solo on 'Angela's Eyes' and some longer instrumental passages.
"In parts it's like Elbow but a bit sparser. Other times the record goes off in a totally different direction, it's a bit groovier and a bit more edgy, but ultimately it's fun."
Guy, 40, believes the time he has spent on 'Courting The Squall' has actually helped him find his place in Elbow.
He said: "I see my songs as little gifts that pop up here and there. The whole point of doing an extra album between Elbow albums is finding out how I really contribute to Elbow, and am I any good?"

Ed Sheeran is worried about competing against Adele.
The 24-year-old singer's record label want him to release his third album in September 2016, which would put him up against the 'Hello' hitmaker at the 2017 Grammys and Ed admitted he is considering pushing back the release so he doesn't have to compete with Adele.
Adele, 27, will release her long-awaited third album 25 on November 20.
Speaking to Billboard, Ed explained: "Adele is releasing her album in the same Grammy category. I don't know if I'm brave enough to go up against her."
However, right now Ed is still working on the album and has been recording with Dr. Luke protege Benny Blanco, who joined him on tour with a mobile studio.
Ed said: "We'll do one song at midday, one song at 5 p.m. and then one song after the show, usually. If I didn't have Benny forcing me to write a song, or three songs, a day, I'd just watch DVDs. But because he's there and paid money for his tour bus and taken time out of his schedule - he could be working with Rihanna or whoever! - you feel obliged. So it proves really beneficial."
Ed also spoke about his friendship Taylor Swift, acknowledging that it is unusual.
The 'Bloodstream' hitmaker doesn't think it is very common for two such successful artists to have a close bond, rather than being rivals.
He said: "It's quite a weird thing for the number one and number two biggest-selling artists in the world to be close friends. I don't think that happens a lot."

Rhodes is flattered Birdy is a fan of his music and hopes they can collaborate again.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter worked with the 'Wings' hitmaker on their song 'Let It All Go' and Rhodes hopes they will reunite for more songs.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he shared: "It was amazing, we just hooked up and we liked each other's music and I found that quite flattering because she is a huge artist and I showed her some ideas that I had and she showed me hers.
"We weren't feeling inspired at the time, we didn't really have an agenda we weren't trying to do anything specific. We just wanted to hang out and get in a room together and write some music and it was really strange, it just happened. We spent an afternoon at the piano sitting together and we wrote it, it happened very very quickly. Often it doesn't happen quickly."
Asked if he'd get into the studio with his fellow singer-songwriter again, he said: "Definitely. We've been performing the song together a couple of times and it's been a lot of fun. We will definitely do some more work together."
Rhodes' debut LP 'Wishes' featuring the Birdy single 'Let It All Go' is out now.

Purity Ring captivated audiences at London's Roundhouse on Thursday (29.10.15).
The electronic music duo - featuring singer Megan James and instrumentalist Corin Roddick - performed tracks from their latest record Another Eternity and wowed the crowd with a breathtaking lighting set-up to captivate the audience.
Framing the stage was strings of light bulbs which pulsated with the music, while Corin was surrounded by eight crystalline bulbs which flashed when hit in time to each song's chiming synth sounds.
The Canadian act have been making waves in the alternative electro scene since their debut album 'Shrines' in 2012 and have more recently been working with Nick Jonas on music for his next record, but they stuck to their trademark sound during their hour-long set, much to the delight of the hundreds of fans.
On stage, petite Megan proved herself to be an enigmatic yet entirely bewitching presence while her high-pitched child-like vocals showed no sign of strain as they whizzed through a series of songs including fan favourites 'Fineshrine' and 'Lofticries'.
However, minimal interaction with the crowd meant their set went from one song to the next with little time to pause, resulting in many of their tracks seeming to roll into one.
But this was fixed by the end of their set, as while addressing the audience before playing 'Stillness In Woe', she said: "You guys are rad. But I just want to encourage more crowd surfing and maybe this sounds the wrong time because this song's quite slow but sometimes I think it's really pretty to crowd surf to slow songs."
And while no-one else took her up on her offer, she leapt into the crowd during final song 'Begin Again', which she sang while being carried around the venue.
Emerging at the end of the track, she insisted: "I'm OK!"
Purity Ring's tour continues around Europe until mid-November.

Sam Smith dreams up lyrics when he sleeps.
The 23-year-old singer often wakes with song ideas and he wishes he could turn "every single thought" he has into a song but if he did he would be swamped with new tracks he wouldn't be able to edit down.
In an Instagram post, he revealed: "Sometimes I wake up with so many lyrics in my head. I wish I could put every single thought of mine into songs for you all. But we would be on album 5 if I did that haha (sic)"
Sam has been working on songs for his second LP - the follow-up to his Grammy Award-winning debut 'In The Lonely Hour' - over the last year and is currently enjoying the success of James Bond theme 'Writing's on the Wall' in the charts.
Speaking about the time frame for his follow-up album, he assured his fans they could expect to hear new music "in the next year or so" but he is going to have well-deserved break first and "spend some time dating".
He said: "I'm not going away for a very long time. I'm already writing my album. I've got the title and I've got two songs I'm absolutely in love with. I'm a songwriter and an artist and I think and breathe my second record every day of my life.
"I will bring my album out in the next year or so, but it's not going to be immediate because I think people are going to get sick of me if I brought an album out next week."
