Pete Doherty feels reborn

Pete Doherty says it feels like The Libertines have "died and been buried and come back".
The group imploded in acrimony just two and a half years after forming in 1997 but now that they are returning with comeback album 'Anthems For Doomed Youth', recovering drug addict Pete, 36, feels they have been reborn.
Speaking to the Guardian about the split, he said: ""It was this colossal f**king row that took 10 years to get over, basically. And, also, I stopped taking heroin, all day, every day, intravenously. That helped, too.
"It feels like we've died and been buried and come back."
Pete - who has been clean since January - revealed that when bandmate Carl Barat, 37, told him he believed in him, he felt like it was a "miracle".
He explained: "When Carl looked me in the eye and actually believed me when I said I was going to give it a f**king go, it was like a miracle. Everything else was forgotten. This self-absorbed vision, this decadent artistic life, it didn't mean anything when you're squatting in that dank, decaying place. And Carl said, 'Look, I know somewhere you're still in there, the person I used to know. Come out to play.'"
Meanwhile, drummer Gary Powell insisted that the ups and downs of the past have made them appreciate the group much more.
He said: "I'm a lot more positive now than I was before. Everybody truly understands the position we're in and the friendships we've cultivated over the years. There's less chance of us throwing it away.
And bassist John Hassall added: "I wasn't waiting for it because that would have been quite a stupid thing to do. To have a new album and be touring festivals seemed like an impossible dream."

Motorhead cancel show after Lemmy health scare

Motorhead had to call off their concert on Thursday (27.08.15) after frontman Lemmy became ill on stage.
The 69-year-old singer told fans he couldn't breathe and had to abandon his set in Salt Lake City, Utah, after just a few songs.
The band posted a message on Facebook afterwards revealing that the altitude had affected Lemmy.
It read: "The people are great, but the air is just too thin. The high altitude makes it difficult for breathing, and that's what happened with Lemmy tonight in Salt Lake City.
"He feels very bad to have cut the show short, but being that high up, he had some trouble breathing well. Lemmy appreciates everyone's concern. The fans always rally round!"
According to Blabbermouth, Lemmy was also experiencing severe back before going off stage.
Lemmy has suffered with his health for some time and has been told to cut back on drinking alcohol and smoking, but he recently insisted that he is most likely to expire on his tour bus, because that is where he feels "most at home".
He said: "I've had some health scares, I've had to really cut back on smoking and drinking and whatever. But it is what it is. I've had a good life, a good run. I do what I do still. I'm sure I'll die on the road, one way or another."
But the 'Ace Of Spades' hitmaker isn't afraid of death. Asked if it frightens him, he said: "No."

Alice Cooper: I came within two or three weeks of dying

Alice Cooper was told he would die if he didn't give up alcohol.
The 'Poison' hitmaker revealed he was drinking so heavily at one point that his doctor gave him an ultimatum that if he carried on abusing his body with spirits and drugs, he'd end up dead.
After throwing up blood one day, he decided to "divorce" himself from his on stage persona because his "heavy image" would end up killing him.
The 67-year-old singer said: "When you have an image that heavy, it's going to kill you because you can't maintain it on and off the stage. That got me the idea to divorce myself from the character on stage, to be able to turn him on and off . . . and I almost didn't.
"I came within two or three weeks of dying. The doctor said, 'If you want to join your Vampire friends, just keep drinking the way you're drinking'. I got up one morning and threw up blood, you know?"
The veteran rocker also thinks witnessing The Doors frontman, Jim Morrison and iconic guitarist, Jimi Hendrix lose their lives at the hands of addiction taught him how "easily" you can die and made him rethink his behaviour.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We watched Jimi and Jim die at 27. These guys lived fast and loose and we had to learn from that.
"We learned from our big brothers that you could very easily die."So I think guys like Steven Tyler and Iggy Pop and myself all came to that crossroads of saying, 'I'm either going to have to radically change what I'm taking into my body, if I wanna make another 30 albums, or I'm going to die'."

Dannii Minogue wants to make new music

Dannii Minogue has "the bug" to make music again.
The 43-year-old Australian singer hasn't brought out a record since 2007's 'Club Disco' LP, but earlier this year she released a single 'Summer of Love' and after making her live comeback she has hinted she is eager to make another album, but is having to adjust to how the music industry works now.
She said: "I'm trying to take it all on board and navigate everything that's going on. I definitely have the bug again."
Dannii - who is Kylie Minogue's younger sister - has realised just how much the rise in digital music has transformed the way records are produced and promoted, but she believes one thing that hasn't altered is that it still "comes down to making music you love".
She told The Sun newspaper: "The music industry has changed beyond recognition since I last had a record out. It's all downloads and online now. But it still comes down to making music you love."
The 'Perfection' hitmaker previously said that something was "holding me back" from returning to her pop music career, but now she is "settled" she is ready to start again.
She said: "I've been wanting to do music for ages but something was holding me back.
"Now I feel really settled. I feel like I'm in a personal space where I can do it and it's going to be fun."

Adele will release album in November

Adele's new album is out in November.
The 'Someone Like You' hitmaker was due to release her third LP in May 2014 but her record label XL Recordings retracted that date and left fans waiting for over a year before giviving any further news of her upcoming music.
However Adele, 27, could be forgiven for feeling pressured to make her next music offering a smash hit since the last sold 11 million copies worldwide and topped the charts in 2011 and 2012.
Although the James Bond singer has teased fans over the past 12 months on social media about what was in store and her third album, supposedly titled '25', has a string of collaborators which should help things along.
'Holding on for Life' hitmaker Danger Mouse, Grammy Award winning Swedish producer Max Martin and Canadian singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. all penned a song.
OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder - who co-wrote 'Rumour Has It' with Adele - als features.
When asked what he thought of Adele's new music, 'Thinking Out Loud' singer Ed Sheeran said there was a lot of excitement from people associated with the project.
said: "I haven't heard [Adele's album], but everyone I know who've worked on it is just like, 'Dude... that record!' Apparently, it's really good."

Louis Tomlinson to focus on record label during hiatus

Louis Tomlinson will focus on his record label during One Direction's hiatus.
The 23-year-old hunk announced the creation of his own label, an imprint of Simon Cowell's Syco, back in April, and will make it his priority during his time off from the band next year.
Speaking to the 'Capital London Breakfast Show' co-host Dave Berry, Simon Cowell said: "I know Louis wants to be an A&R guy, run a label; he was always going to be good at that. I haven't gone into too much detail with the others."
Speaking earlier this year about the label, which has already signed 'The X Factor UK' finalist Jack Walton, the 'Drag Me Down' singer said he had been keen to launch the label for a while.
He explained: "This is something I've wanted to do for some time.
"To be given the opportunity to potentially give new artists a platform is an incredible feeling. I hope to sign some really exciting new artists down the line."
While Louis will focus on working with other artists, Harry Styles has been tipped to make a solo album and feature in Hollywood films, while Niall Horan is believed to be eager to also make music or work in sports promotion.
And Liam Payne, 21, previously said he is hoping to get into music production.
Asked what he wants to do during their time off, he said: "There's loads of things. I've been writing a lot on the road at the moment, not for me, just for other people.
"I've been doing a lot of things, you know trying to get into the producing side of it which is pretty cool."

Mark Ronson feels ‘past his sell-by date’

Mark Ronson feels like he's "past [his] sell-by date".
The 'Uptown Funk' hitmaker, who will turn 40 next week, has admitted he sometimes feels too old to be a popular musician but takes comfort in the fact other older musicians such as Pharrell Williams still manage to create chart-topping hits.
He said: "I'm so far past my sell-by date of what pop music is supposed to be.
"But, if you look at it, Pharrell and Daft Punk are around that age. So maybe there's something to be said for experience."
The DJ - who has collaborated with stars including Sir Paul McCartney and Amy Winehouse during his career - gained himself a worldwide hit single with 'Uptown Funk' earlier this year, but confessed the song was almost scrapped by himself and his co-writer and vocalist Bruno Mars because it was so tricky to complete.
He explained: "I've never worked so hard on a song.
"So many times, the song died a sudden death.
"We'd be working for two days straight and didn't like what was coming out. We couldn't get a verse, weren't sure what the chorus should be, or if it should have a chorus."
However, the track has gone on to rack up almost a billion views on YouTube and five nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year, and although the ceremony is known for outrageous celebrity stunts, Mark is concentrating more on picking up trophies instead of getting people talking with his onstage antics.
He told New York Daily News newspaper: "Maybe because I don't have a stunt planned, I'd rather win.
"I'd sooner have a VMA than end up on TMZ."

Paloma Faith sings for Sir Tom Jones at gig

Paloma Faith sang for Sir Tom Jones at an intimate gig in London last night (26.08.15).
The 'Can't Rely On You' hitmaker impressed the 'Delilah' singer and thrilled competition winners at the MasterCard Priceless Moments evening at The Savoy Hotel with renditions of Etta James' 'At Last', Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' and Tina Turner's 'River Deep Mountain High'.
And Paloma, 34, had people in stitches when she introduced the night and joked about being terrible with money.
She quipped: "I'm not very good with credit cards. I don't have them because I don't trust myself. I mean this is all part of me luring you in to a false sense of security.
"So well done MasterCard for taking a risk with someone who's probaby going to go straight to the heart of the matter."
The Hackney born singer is Sir Tom's replacement on the judging panel of BBC One talent show 'The Voice' and although he has slammed the BBC for the "deeply insulting" way in which they axed him, he came out for the gig and wished the petite star well.
She said after the show: "Performing tonight was an incredible experience, from the intimate crowd to the beautiful venue. It was great to be able to create a jazz club atmosphere and perform songs that I wouldn't normally, in relaxed surroundings."
