Ella Eyre: I’ve begun working on album 2

Ella Eyre has teased that her sophomore record might be released this summer.
The 'Gravity' hitmaker performed her first concert of the year at Birmingham's LG Arena on Monday (05.01.16) and before she played the show, Ella reached out to her fans on Twitter to reveal she won't be playing live until the summer months because she's "begun" laying down her second album.
She wrote: "first gig of the year tonight and the last 'til the summer..album 2 has begun, prepare for a VERY different set the next time i see ya (sic)"
The 21-year-old singer - who is dating Rixton drummer Lewi Morgan - has promised her next record will be very different to her debut 'Feline' - which peaked at number four in the UK chart - and says it will have a much more "personal" vibe to it.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I'm writing album number two. I'm just experimenting at the moment so I'm really enjoying that. But I'm going to be spending a lot more time in America next year and writing with a few writers and seeing where we end up really. I'm still in the loop but I will definitely be focusing on the new album.
"I just want to enjoy it, I know I don't want to spend too long on it but I know I want it to be very personal and I'll look forward to what I'll come up with."

The Offspring sell back catalogue rights for £24 million

The Offspring have sold the rights to their back catalogue for a reported £24 million.
The 'Pretty Fly For A White Guy' hitmakers handed over most of their music to New York music rights company Round Hill including their records released through Columbia Records.
According to Billboard, the earliest albums including, the rocker's biggest-selling albums 1994's 'Smash' and 1992's 'Ignition' will still be owned by Epitaph Records.
The American rockers - including Noodles and Pete Parada - wanted to preserve their discography as it's "incredibly important" for them going forward with future music.
Frontman Dexter Holland, said in statement:"We felt that having the right caretaker for our catalogue, both the masters and the publishing, is incredibly important to the future of our career. Round Hill understands that we are continuing to perform and record and that the visibility of our past is critical to our future."
The Offspring - who have been together for more than three decades - have cumulative sales of over 17 million since forming in 1984, with most of the albums released on Columbia.
Their biggest-seller was 'Smash' which remains owned by Epitaph.
Round Hill CEO Josh Gruss wanted to get the punk rock band on their publishing roster to "broaden the genre representation" of their business.
He said: "We have some masters like the Bush catalog and records from developing artists like London Souls and Nigel Hall, but we wanted more exposure and you won't get a more high-quality catalog than The Offspring. Also, we didn't have some American punk rock in our publishing portfolio, and this acquisitions helps broaden the genre representation."

Slash: Music is more exciting as I get older

Slash finds making music "more exciting" now he's "older".
The 50-year-old rocker - who has been confirmed to be reuniting with his Guns N' Roses bandmates Axl Rose and Duff McKagan to headline the Coachella Festival - thinks he's a better rock star now he's in his fifties because he's not preoccupied chasing around drug dealers and getting smashed in bars.
In an interview with filmmaker Sam Dunn, he said: "Not being burned out from the night before helps. Since I'm not spending all my time at the pub or chasing dealers, I spend all my time writing and working. I do all kinds of s**t, and I think it's become more exciting as I get older. The passion and desire to do it is really strong. I find it to be tons of fun."
Elsewhere, the 'Sweet Child O' Mine' guitarist's Myles Kennedy & The Conspirator bandmate, Todd Kerns has revealed he knew about the Guns N' Roses reunion for a "long time" and feels "nothing short of incredible" to be "close" to the historical reformation, which comes 23 years after he last played with the group.
In a statement posted on the band's website, Todd said: "By now you will have been privy to news that is hardly unexpected yet wholly exciting nonetheless. God knows it never seemed to be that carefully kept a secret.
"For a long time now, we, CONSPIRATORS, have been personally made aware that the regrouping of one of the most important brotherhoods in music history was underway.
"That thing that everyone had wished for but never thought possible was quietly (and not so quietly) cooking under our very noses. To be in this close of proximity to a history of rock and roll moment occurring has been nothing short of incredible (sic)."

Busted reunite with Miss McKenzie for new video

Busted have reunited with school teacher crush Miss McKenzie for their new music video.
The pop rockers - Charlie Simpson, James Bourne and Matt Willis - first shot a video with Miss McKenzie, real name Lorna Roberts, for their 2002 debut song 'What I Got To School For'.
The reunited trio decided to track her down to appear in the promo for their comeback track.
According to website Digital Spy, bassist Matt said: "We were thinking of interesting things to film whilst we were recording at Abbey Road, and came up with the idea of tracking down the original Miss McKenzie from the 'What I Got To School For video'.
"It was a really fun trip down memory lane and took us back to 13 years ago when we first filmed the video. And she still looks great!"
Just as they've taken a trip down memory lane for their new video, frontman Charlie can't wait to play all the band's back catalogue live.
He said: "I'm kind of looking forward to re-imagining some of these songs. I've got some ideas. Obviously we're in a different place now to 10 years ago, so it's going to be fun."

Adele shares gym shot as she prepares for tour

Adele is preparing for her world tour with some intensive gym sessions.
The 27-year-old singer will be hitting the road for 10 months when her tour kicks off in February, and is working hard to ensure she has the stamina for the job in hand.
But the 'Hello' singer appears to be struggling somewhat with the workout plan set for her, judging by her latest Instagram post.
Adele shared a shot on the site which showed her grimacing in pain as she pulled some kind of weighted cable.
She captioned the picture: "Getting ready".
The mother-of-one wowed fans with her slimmer figure when she made her much anticipated musical comeback last year following a three year hiatus.
She revealed recently that her thinner frame is down to a strict diet and "f***ing boring" gym sessions.
Talking about the vocal hemorrhage she had in 2011, Adele told Daily Life magazine back in November: "It's f***ing boring, but I don't think you take your voice seriously until you've an accident. I'm frightened all the time I'm going to damage my voice."
She has also given up smoking and drinking in a bid to maintain her vocal health.
Adele's workout picture came as it was revealed her latest album '25' has succeeded in smashing records to become the UK's biggest-selling home entertainment title of the last year - beating even the Fifa 16 computer game.

Linkin Park working on a new album

Linkin Park have confirmed they are working on their seventh studio LP.
The 'In The End' hitmakers shared a picture of singer Chester Bennington and the rest of the band looking hard at work in their studio and have also released a statement on their official website informing fans they are in the process of making a record.
The band - also including rapper Mike Shinoda - captioned the image on Instagram: "back to work this week (sic)."
And wrote on their homepage: "We're a just getting started in the studio on a new album (sic)."
The American rockers went on hiatus briefly in 2015, while Chester, 39, toured and performed with Stone Temple Pilots, who's original frontman Scott Weiland passed away on December 3, 2015, from an accident overdose.
However, in November Chester announced he would be parting ways with STP to "focus 100 per cent" on Linkin Park.
He previously stated: "In all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I'm going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 per cent. It's been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park."
The band's last studio LP was 2014's 'The Hunting Party', which saw the band return to their 90s heavy metal roots.

Motörhead fans call for Lemmy’s own periodic table element

Motörhead fans have petitioned for Lemmy to have a metal element named after him on the periodical table.
The change.org campaign, which has been signed by 13,000 fans, has requested people support the induction of the heavy metal element called 'Lemmium' in honour of the late rocker, who died from cancer on December 28 aged 70.
'Lemmium' would be the chemical name given to one of four new heavy metal elements recently discovered by scientists.
The petition has a tribute page with a fitting message in the 'Ace of Spades' singer's memory, which hails Lemmy "a force of nature and the very essence of heavy metal".
Elsewhere, Lemmy - who died after a short battle with an aggressive cancer - will be remembered with a memorial service on Saturday (09.01.16), which will be live streamed on YouTube.
According to a Facebook statement from the band, the late rocker's family and friends will be invited to attend a ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood, but have asked fans not to attend and watch the service via a live stream from 3pm.
The band - including Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee - stated: "We want you ALL to be a part of this memorial service. So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. GO to your favourite bar, or your favourite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm's life at home. (sic)"
They added: "Whatever your venue, and however you can, let's be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon."

Slash and Duff McKagan rejoin Guns N’ Roses for Coachella

Guns N' Roses have confirmed Slash and Duff McKagan will rejoin the band for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Axl Rose - the founding member of the band - has announced he will step out on stage with his original bandmates - who haven't played together in Guns N' Roses since 1993 - at the annual music extravaganza in Indio, California, in April.
A statement, released last night (05.01.16), read: "Upholding a three-decade tradition of breaking ground, creating trends, and forever changing the face of rock 'n' roll, Guns N' Roses announce the most significant and anxiously awaited musical event of this century. Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival."
Axl announced Guns N' Roses had taken one of the headline slots at the event on Tuesday when he wrote on Twitter: "Ok, ok... It's "confirmed! Guns N' Roses is Headlining Coachella 2016!! See Everyone There!! (sic)."
Other names among the line-up for 2016 festival include DJ Calvin Harris, who will headline the closing night.
Headlining the opening night will be LCD Soundsystem, which will see the first time the band have performed since retiring in 2011.
