The Strokes offer $5,000 reward for lost guitar

The Strokes' guitarist Nick Valensi is offering a reward of $5,000 to the person who finds his lost Epiphone guitar.
The 1995 Riviera model was misplaced while being transported from New York to Los Angeles earlier this month and the band have now updated a statement on their official website to say they've increased the reward sum from $1,000 to $5,000 (£3,500).
The statement, which also includes a description of the stolen instrument, reads: "Hello Friends. In a bit of unfortunate news, we've recently learned that Nick's beloved Epiphone guitar has gone missing while being shipped from NYC to LA. A description of the guitar and its case is below and we ask that you join us in keeping an eye out for it. It goes without saying how bummed he is that it's gone missing. If you have any info at all about the guitar - perhaps see it in a pawn shop or on eBay - please send an email to [email protected]. We are offering a reward of $5,000 to the person that can direct us to the missing guitar.
We deeply appreciate the extra eyes and ears - The Strokes (sic)"
The 'Last Nite' rockers took to their Twitter account on Thursday night (21.01.16) to let their followers know it's still missing and they've increased the reward amount.
They wrote: "Unfortunately, we still haven't found Nick's missing guitar ... we've updated the amount on the reward we are offering (sic)"

Paloma Faith busy working on fourth album

Paloma Faith is busy working on her fourth album.
The 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' hitmaker is currently locked away in a studio writing songs for the follow-up to 2014's 'A Perfect Contradiction' and is excited to get new music out so she can go on tour.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, she wrote: "I am just writing it now. I want it to come out too so I can go on tour again! But patience is a virtue."
Paloma delayed the LP while she filmed the audition rounds of BBC's 'The Voice', but now she has some spare time before the live shows begin she's determined to lay down some lyrics.
The 34-year-old singer announced she had started making the record when she performed at Glastonbury last June.
Speaking to the crowd, she said: "Now we're going to bring to your attention what I've been listening to a lot when making album number four."
And while she's keeping details of the album under wraps, it's known she enlisted the help of Chic legend Nile Rodgers.
Posting a photo of the pair in the studio a few months ago on Instagram, she wrote: "In the studio today learning from a master @nilerodgers (sic)"
Paloma has performed with Chic on several occasions most notably at his FOLD festival, where they jammed with Pharrell Williams and Keith Urban last year.
Paloma's album is expected to be released later this year.

The electro pop duo - consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe - will release their 13th studio LP on April 1 which they recorded with producer Stuart Price, who worked with them on 2013's 'Electric' and who has previously collaborated with the likes of Madonna, The Killers, Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliott.

The band last performed live on their 'Electric' tour, on which Price acted as musical director.
Speaking about the shows, singer Tennant told The Evening Standard newspaper: "I think we have in our history a tendency to do quite theatrical concerts. Iggy Pop and Josh Homme record album with Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders

Iggy Pop, Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys' Matt Helders have recorded an album together.
The trio of rockers have teamed up to make 'Post Pop Depression' - which will be released in March - which was recorded in secret over a year ago between Josh's two studios in Los Angeles, Joshua Tree and Pink Duck in Los Angeles.
The tracks are influenced by Iggy's solo album 'Lust for Life', which was produced by the late David Bowie in 1977.
Explaining the influence of the album on their new music, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh, 42, said: "Where those records pointed, it stopped ... But without copying it, that direction actually goes for miles. And when you keep going for miles you can't see these two records any more."
Iggy, 68, has also revealed the album's theme is inspired by his advancing years and the encroachment of the end of his life.
He said: "In American life, because it's so hyper-competitive, what happens when you're finally useless to everyone except hopefully not yourself? What happens then? And can you continue to be of use to yourself? I had a kind of character in mind. It was sort of a cross between myself and a military veteran."
As well as Iggy, Josh and Matt, 'Post Pop Depression' also features Dean Fertita, from Queens of the Stone Age, and the Dead Weather, on guitars and keyboards.

Foxes ‘scared’ for album release

Foxes is "scared" about the release of her new album.
The 'Youth' hitmaker admits she is nervous for her next LP, 'All I Need', to drop as she is "very emotionally attached" to the songs on the album.
She said: "I started writing 'Glorious' when I was 16. It felt like quite a young album. So there has been lots of personal change and growth. With this album, I hid myself away in a studio for a year.
"I'm so ready for it to be out now, though it's also quite scary as it's the most honest writing I've ever done. I'm very emotionally attached to everything on this. It's like a diary that someone has got hold of.
"But at the same time, it was a process I had to go through to help me move on. It was therapeutic. Everyone can relate to their first breakup, we've all been there and it feels like s**t."
And the 26-year-old singer - real name Louisa Rose Allen - admits she struggled to open up and be honest with herself during the songwriting process at first but doesn't want to "dwell" on the past now.
She added to The Sun newspaper: "Writing something that was brutally honest was the only thing I was feeling.
"I had to accept the pain and see it as a chapter in my life. It's been difficult to listen back to some of the songs at times because I don't want to dwell on it either now.
"I even look back and think, 'Oh shut up with the whining.' I've done my ice cream eating and my crying."

Shift K3Y to collaborate with Craig David

Shift K3Y is going into the studio to work with Craig David.
The 'I Know' singer/songwriter is enjoying being a part of the music industry rather than a fan and is looking forward to finally getting into the studio with the '7 Days' hitmaker after they were forced to cancel several planned meetings.
The 'I Know' hitmaker exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Craig David reaching out to me is an amazing thing and he is such an inspiration. So it's nice to be a part of that scene now and not looking into it as an observer.
"We're actually in the studio in the first week of February. We've had quite a few sessions booked but we've both had to cancel here and there. So now I can't wait to do something next level with him. It's nice to have the comparison being made."
The British DJ - whose real name is Lewis Jankel - released 'Gone Missing' last month and is almost ready to drop his debut album, which is the accumulation of almost two years of work in the studio.
He added: "I've been working on the album for just over a year, just coming up to two years. It's an ongoing process, just ever evolving and honing in on what that sound is.
"I would like to say there would be four r'n'b tracks, four garage tracks, four house tracks, and they all weave into each other between the styles.
"But I can't say anything in case it doesn't end up on there but that's how the state of the album is right now."

Lenny Kravitz cherishes Bob Dylan’s harmonica

Lenny Kravitz's most cherished piece of music memorabilia is a harmonica given to him by Bob Dylan.
The 51-year-old musician has been a lifelong fan of Dylan's music and he was blown away when the 'It Ain't Me Babe' singer presented him with the mouth organ as a gift following a concert in Atlanta.
But so far he has resisted the urge to try out the instrument.
When asked what he has done with Dylan's harmonica, he shared: "It's on the mantel in my bedroom in Paris. I see it when I wake up. I've picked it up a few times and looked at it. It has a piece of tape on it with the keys written on it. I'll play it someday. I've put special things from my life on that mantel: the plastic cast of my hand that my uncle made when I was six; a ceramic mask I made in art class when I was about seven; a Cartier watch that belonged to (cabaret singer) Bobby Short; the handwritten set list to Woodstock that Hendrix wrote right before doing the gig. I bought those years ago."
Kravtiz's heroes are Dylan, Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney and Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger.
The rocker admits he admires their undiminished passion for performing even though they are all in their 70s and he hopes to still be on stage when he reaches the same decade of his life.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he said: "Bob and Mick and McCartney - it's wonderful to see how they've become like the jazz cats. I saw The Rolling Stones on the last tour, the last show of the American leg. They were as hardcore as I've ever seen them - their aggression and precision were unbelievable. I look at them and say, "That's what I want to be doing when I'm in my 70s."

Naughty Boy hints Beyonce is coming to the BRITs

Naughty Boy has hinted Beyoncé could be a surprise guest at the BRIT Awards.
The 31-year-old producer's collaboration with the R&B superstar and Arrow Benjamin, 'Runnin' (Lose It All)', is up for the British Artist Video prize at the ceremony and he has discussed their nomination with her and he teased she could be up for attending.
He said: "I'm so excited about the BRIT nomination. I spoke to Beyoncé she's mad excited."
When pushed on whether Queen Bey plans on attending, he added: "Beyoncé doesn't need an invite, she's already invited."
After working with Beyoncé, Naughty Boy is now keen to record a song with her husband, rap legend Jay Z.
Discussing potential artists for his upcoming new album, he said: "I'd love for Jay Z to be on it."
It was previously reported that Beyoncé had been trying to convince Jay to sign Naughty Boy to his Roc Nation record label.
A source said: "Naughty Boy's track 'La La La' became a worldwide hit and it managed to catch the attention of Jay Z.
"Beyoncé and Naughty Boy have formed a close friendship and she has spoke to Jay about him going to Roc Nation."

Iggy Azalea’s record label won’t allow Zillion music video

Iggy Azalea's record label have told her she can't make a video for her song 'Zillion'.
The 'Fancy' singer reached out to her fans on Twitter and told them Virgin/EMI won't allow her to make a music video for the "buzz track" that she dropped online as a teaser for her next album because they didn't think it was "good enough".
Iggy posted a series of tweets which read: "Bad news update:my record label Virgin/EMI seems to feel the response to my viral record "zillon" wasnt good enough & im not allowed a video ... I felt like it was dope so, whatever. ted cockle doesn't wanna see me shine. what can i say (sic)"
Although the 25-year-old rapper is disappointed by her label's reaction she is going to remain "mildly professional" but if she needs to she'll drive around Los Angeles playing her album full blast if she can't get her music out any other way.
She wrote on the social media site: "Anyhow i could say ALOT - but ill keep it mildly professional. Just wanted to let some of you guys asking know whats happening. If all else fails ill just drive around LA and play my new album really loudly every monday from 4-6pm hahaha (sic)"
Iggy has confirmed the name of her second album is 'Digital Distortion' and it is due to be released sometime this year.
