Steven Tyler: I’m not leaving Aerosmith for country music

Steven Tyler will never leave Aerosmith despite his bandmate Joe Perry thinking he will.
The 67-year-old rocker has been busy working on his solo country music and recently dropped his single 'Red White, & You'.
Asked what the band's reaction to the track was, he said lead guitarist, Joe told him he thought it would signal the end of his career with the 'Crazy' hitmakers, but Steve has assured fans it isn't.
Asked if he'd heard from the lads, he said: "I have heard from Joey, he said he'd heard a few things on the internet. "
And on if he liked the song, he told Howard on 'The Howard Stern Show': "No. He said I'm quitting Aerosmith to do country, which is the dumbest thing on the planet. I would never leave Aerosmith."
Meanwhile, the veteran rocker - who is living a life of sobriety despite years of drug-taking - admitted he lost his "god given talent" to drugs.
Asked how he's managed to keep his voice in check despite heavy abuse, he said: "I was a f***ing maniac. The only way out is through. I was a humongous to die for drug addict and I still have a couple of puffs off my girlfriend's cigarette and it's like woah. But I keep it in check, I have a 12 step thing I do."
And on whether he's confident he'll never take substances again, he said: "No. That I don't. I keep myself honest with I'm just a hit record away. It's so hard to survive in this world, in American everywhere and people want a little release. I don't blame people for getting high. I took it to the wall and I've got a talent , a god given talent. I got so stoned I lost it all."

Iggy Pop: Post Pop Depression is inspired by sex, furniture and German trivia

Iggy Pop and Josh Homme were inspired to make music from their shared interests in "[their] sex life, furniture and German trivia".
The rockers - who teamed up with Arctic Monkeys' Matt Helders for the secret LP titled 'Post Pop Depression' -had a bizarre bonding session where they talked about their ideas for the album.
On working together, Iggy told Matt Wilkinson in a forthcoming Beats 1 Radio interview: "About half way through, we had a conversation about what we wanted to do. We didn't want to take anyone's money, we didn't want a record [label] person up our ass - we were willing to use our own funds."
Josh added: "It was a diverse layout of interests."
And Iggy revealed the things that turned them both on were, "Sex life, furniture and German trivia".
Meanwhile, the 68-year-old rocker said the band - which also includes Dean Fertita, from Queens of the Stone Age, and the Dead Weather, on guitars and keyboards - "sound really bloody good" live.
The record, which was made over a year ago between Josh's two studios in Los Angeles, Joshua Tree and Pink Duck in Los Angeles, is expected to be released in March.

Nickelback call out Kanye West on his ‘best album of all time’

Nickelback have called out Kanye West for saying his album is "the best album of all time".
The 'Rockstar' group took a light-hearted swipe at the 'All Day' hitmaker when announcing they are working on new music, joking it can't possibly compete with the rapper's upcoming LP 'Swish'.
Writing on their Twitter page on Monday (25.01.16), the rockers wrote: "Good news: we're working on new music. Bad news for us: @kanyewest 'Swish' will be the best album of all time. #SWISH #Kanye (sic)"
Nickelback were referring to Kanye's tweet on Monday (25.01.16) in which he shared his album was complete and boasted it was the "best" record ever made.
He wrote: "So happy to be finished with the best album of all time (sic)."
Nickelback are working on a follow-up to 2014's 'No Fixed Address'.
The rock group have also announced plans to reschedule last year's tour dates after frontman Chad Kroeger underwent vocal cord surgery in August, forcing them to axe their shows around the globe.
In a video statement posted on Billboard, guitarist Ryan Peake said: "Hey Guys it's Ryan from Nickelback. Just to let you know we are firing things up and probably early 2016 we will try and get things back on track again. Chad's healing well and we hope to see you guys later next year."

The Last Shadow Puppets’ second LP ‘wasn’t expected’

The Last Shadow Puppets' second album wasn't "planned".
The supergroup - consisting of Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner, Miles Kane and Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford - confirmed their first studio LP in eight years, 'Everything You've Come To Expect' last week, a record which might not have been made if it wasn't for Alex and Miles making the track 'Aviation'.
Alex, 30, revealed: "When asked about it, we always thought that somewhere in the future we'd ride again, but I dunno if we expected it to actually. There wasn't actually a plan to any of it."
Guitarist Miles added that it was that one song that got the trio writing the new record.
On the album's catalyst song, Miles told Radio X: "We'd be doing other bits together in that time and when we wrote the first song 'Aviation', we thought this is probably a Puppetity tune."
After jamming out the song, the pair got together last summer at Rick Rubin's Shangri-La studios in Malibu, California - which was previously owned by Bob Dylan and The Band - and also drafted in Mini Mansions' Zach Dawes on bass and Owen Pallett scoring the string section.
Meanwhile, hot off the heels of announcing the new record, the indie rockers have also unveiled tour dates in the UK and US for March and April.

The Last Shadow Puppets tour dates:

Edinburgh, Usher Hall - Mar 26
Paris, Olympia - Mar 29

Sheffield, City Hall - Apr 3
Amsterdam, Paradiso - Apr 7

Britney Spears has fuelled speculation new music is on its way.
Fans of the 'Piece of Me' hitmaker got excited when she shared what appeared to be three music video teasers.
Although she didn't leave a caption, it is thought to either be related to a new album or her Las Vegas residency.
Meanwhile, Britney previously confirmed her Las Vegas 'Piece of Me' show was being extended for two years.
She said: "I'm not ready to leave Vegas yet! And I just really really love this show and this city. I'm so proud of the show, and my band, my dancers and my crew have all become such a family to me. When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn't imagine ending my residency at the end of this year ...
"Okay I have some big news tonight. Usually I get you guys to help me count to three, but tonight I want you to help me count to two because I'm going to be in Vegas for two more years!"

Elton John has never been asked to play Glastonbury

Sir Elton John has "never" been asked to play Glastonbury.
The 68-year-old singer is one of the world's most successful artists and is a big fan of the diverse annual music festival but he claims organisers Michael and Emily Eavis have never approached him to perform.
In an interview with radio station BBC 6 Music, he said: "I've never been asked to play Glastonbury. Or I might have been asked but I'm not aware of it [if I have].
"I love Glastonbury because what it's good at, not just putting all sorts of music on the big stages, but it's a great chance for the musicians who don't have a chance of being played on Radio One, you can go there and see five or six acts that are not in the top 10 but should be."
After decades of performing, Elton is more comfortable on stage than ever thanks to his "kick-ass" band.
He said: "I'm comfortable with myself on stage, I'm enjoying being on stage more now.
"I'm singing better, I'm playing as well as I've ever done, I've got the best band since the three-piece, I've had fabulous bands but this band is the most kick-ass band I've ever had, I love them all and we get on so well.
"I'm in the prime of my life with performing, and performing with the band for the last two years has now translated onto the record, I'm so happy with it because it's captured what we do on stage."
And the 'Your Song' hitmaker never tires of singing his biggest hits time and time again because he feels so "lucky" to have worked with long-time lyricist Bernie Taupin.
He said: "The more I sing Bernie's lyrics - and I've sung them a lot - the more I love them. Every time I sing 'Tiny Dancer', 'Levon', 'Your Song', every time, you never get tired.
"If they're great lyrics, they're great lyrics. I'm lucky to have a lyric writer that the more I sing their lyrics, the better they get. And that's astonishing.
"The older I get the more I realise how lucky I am to have a lyric writer that stands the test of time."

Guns ‘N Roses reunion will be a ‘healing’ process

The Guns 'N Roses reunion will be a "healing process" for the band, former bassist Tommy Stinson has claimed.
The musician played with the rock group from 1998 until 2014 when he decided to leave to reunite with his own former band The Replacements.
Stinson has given the reformation of classic line-up members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan his full blessing ahead of their headline slot at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April and thinks the trio will take a lot from their reunion.
In an interview with American radio station The Current, he said: "I think everyone kind of knows where I stand with it all. I left it in a good way. I mean, roughly, I actually had to just start turning down tours because I was unable to tour; I got into a position, personally, where my personal life was going to prevent me from doing it. I don't know, it must have been about five tours that they called me to do, and I just said I can't do 'em. And at that point, they ... I think Axl got to the position where he was, like, 'OK, so what am I going to do now? 'Cause I don't have a band. Blah blah blah.' So I think it worked out.
"I think they'll have fun. It will be a healing thing for them, if it works out good. It will be good for them."
Last week, Guns N' Roses announced two Las Vegas warm-up shows ahead of their headline slot at Coachella at the T-Mobile arena on April 8 and 9. It is the first time the classic line-up of the group will have been together on stage since 1993.
It is still not yet known who will take on drumming duties with former sticksmen Steven Adler - whom played on debut LP 'Appetite For Destruction' - and 'Use Your Illusion' era musician Matt Sorum both expressing an interest in participating in the reunion and being prepared to share duties.
Guns N' Roses are also expected to come to the UK and Europe for a series of shows.
