Rihanna’s Work began life at Drake’s pool party

Rihanna's new single 'Work' came together at a pool party hosted by Drake in 2015.
The 'Hotline Bling' rapper held a big bash late last summer where the song's producers, Sevn Thomas, Boi-1da, and Allen Ritter, came up with the beat.
And upon hearing it, Drake wrote a verse and then passed it onto RiRi who loved what he had done and recorded it straight away.
Asked how Drake and Rihanna teamed up, Sevn said: "Drake had a pool party up there and told 1da he could hold down the crib for a little bit, and we were just vibing there. We're all family, so everyone treated it like their own home, and we went to work, man.
"He [Drake] heard it and he understood the vibes, and he put a verse down on it. Party, I believe, was staying at Rihanna's house in Malibu at the time, and he played her the song and I guess she fell in love with it and wanted to cut it right away."
Sven - whose credits also include Kanye West's song 'Real Friends' - didn't know how much of a role he'd have in the song until he was told it was going to be the lead single to create "buzz" for Rihanna's new album 'ANTI'.
He told website Complex.com: "When they shot the video for it, I wasn't sure the role I was going to play in the song, and then they said they were looking at it to be a return single to build buzz for her album. It was just really exciting to see. I remember seeing it and hearing all the rumours, and my brother was like, "Bro, this s**t is about to change your life again."
Rihanna's eighth studio 'ANTI' was released for free via TIDAL on Thursday (28.01.16).

Corey Taylor says Eminem is his dream collaborator

Corey Taylor wants to collaborate with Eminem.
The Slipknot frontman - who also wants to do something with Nine Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor - would love the chance to get into the studio with the superstar rapper because he idolises his "attitude" and the "emotion" he puts into his lyrics.
Corey said: "I mean, there's a lot of people. Everybody from Trent Reznor - I would love to work with Trent - to, and I was just thinking about this the other day, I would love to do something with Eminem. I would love to trade some stuff back and forth with him, because I love the way he writes and the way he flows and the attitude; you know, the emotion that's in it."
However, the 'Wait and Bleed' hitmaker doesn't think he'll ever get to work with the 'Lose Yourself' star, but it would make his "dream" come true if they ever did record a track together.
Corey, 42, told Swedish website Rocksverige.se: "I would love to do something with Eminem where we kind of go back and forth. Will it ever happen? Probably not. But, you know, it's still a dream."

Matt Healy: All bands want success

The 1975's Matt Healy has blasted indie bands for acting like they aren't bothered about success.
The singer has criticised the mentality of many of his rock peers who pretend they "don't care" about getting into the charts so they won't have to face up to being failures when their songs don't rank.
The 26-year-old singer told NME magazine: "If you don't want your art to reach people, that negates you as an artist. I hate that indie band bulls**t of acting like you don't care so you don't get judged about being s**t. That's what indie is now. That fey sense of 'we don't care'. Well, don't do it then. F**k off and do something else."
However, it's not just indie groups Matt has a problem with.
The 'Chocolate' hitmaker - who is set to release his band's new LP, 'I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It' next month - also slammed pop hunk Justin Bieber for writing about "nothingness" on his hit song 'What Do You Mean?'.
He previously said: "That new Justin Bieber song - 'What Do You Mean? When you nod your head yes but you wanna say no' - can we stop talking about girls who don't know what they want? Can we stop talking about nothingness? No one's asking you to inspire a revolution, but inspire something.
"I was a w***er to Justin Bieber. I think he tried to get me kicked out a couple of times."

Guns N’ Roses throw shade at Steven Tyler for taking credit for their reunion

Guns N' Roses have suggested they haven't spoken to Steven Tyler for "numerous years".
The Aerosmith frontman appears to have upset the reunited group with his recent comments that he persuaded Axl Rose to rejoin his former bandmates, because the 'Paradise City' hitmakers have now taken a swipe at those who have spoken out and "taken credit" for their reunion, despite playing a "non-existent" role in their comeback.
Taking to their official Facebook page, the band wrote: "Guns N' Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between. "Especially those with whom we haven't spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal even if non-existent role. We, and the fans thank you! #GnFnR (sic)"
In a radio chat on Howard's SiriusXM show, Steven, 67, said he'd met up with Axl, 53, and told him the world needs Guns N' Roses back.
He said: "I did meet Axl in a couple of clubs, a year ago, two years ago, three years ago, and I'd bump into him and I'd have that talk.
"I said, 'You need to get the f**k back together again soon because we all miss you.' Same thing someone said to me when [Aerosmith guitarist] Joe [Perry] and I were fighting."
The band - also featuring Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer and Chris Pitman - are gearing up for two comeback shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 8 and April 9, ahead of their headline slot at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival the same month.

Fergie eyeing up March release for second album

Fergie looks set to release her first album in a decade in March.
The former Black Eyed Peas singer was spotted in Paris at the weekend, where she undertook a photoshoot for the cover of the upcoming record, which will be the follow-up to her 2006 solo debut 'The Dutchess'.
According to WWD, the 'London Bridge' hitmaker worked with visual artists and photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott on the shoot, and posed for pictures in a number of outfits by several high-end fashion designers including Tom Ford, Gianvito Rossi, Rosamosario and Raf Simons.
The 40-year-old beauty is also believed to be working on a number of upcoming music videos for her campaign, two of which will be filmed in Los Angeles and London.
Though she hasn't commented directly on the speculation, she has used her Twitter page to share a news story about the possible release.
In the summer of 2015, Fergie was photographed with singer Charlie Puth, working on a song penned by the 'See You Again' hitmaker.
Charlie previously said: I got to work with Fergie - for example - last month, which was so much fun and we made such a cool song."
Asked what the song sounds like, he added: "Picture 'My Humps' 2015. Fergie is so talented, she's such a genius. My mind was completely blown when I was in the studio with her."
Fergie's last release was her 2014 single 'L.A. Love (La La)', which sold just 200,000 copies.

Disclosure and Foals co-headline Reading and Leeds Festivals

Disclosure and Foals will co-headline this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The chart-topping dance duo, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, will join the award-winning indie rock group and previously-confirmed headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers over the weekend of August 26-28.
The 'Latch' producers are thrilled to gain headline status at the popular weekender and were amazed as the last time an electronic music artist led the line-up was The Prodigy, who played more than a decade ago.
In statement, the pair said: "We're incredibly excited to be co-headlining Reading and Leeds with our good friends Foals. We've been going to Reading festival since we were kids and have played at both festivals several times, but never in a million years did we think we'd be at the top of the line-up, especially considering there hasn't been an electronic headliner since The Prodigy in 2002! Truly honoured."
And Foals - which includes Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, Edwin Congreave and Walter Gervers - have been waiting for the day to come for a long time, and hope their journey to headliner status will inspire other musicians.
Yannis said: "We're absolutely buzzing to be headlining Reading & Leeds this year. It's a dream come true. I used to watch Nirvana live at Reading '92, on VHS , repeatedly while dying my hair blue and learning how to play guitar, badly.
"We've worked our way up on our own terms and to be given the chance to headline one of the world's most iconic festivals is a huge achievement for us and hopefully a sign for all bands, that, if you stick to your guns and focus on what matters, you'll get there and smash it. Onwards and upwards friends. Long live the guitar band."
Other acts added to the bill include Jack Ü, Imagine Dragons, Two Door Cinema Club, Fetty Wap, Crystal Castles, Parkway Drive, The Internet and Nothing But Thieves.
Tickets are on sale now.

Rihanna releases ANTI for free

Rihanna has released 'ANTI' for free.
The 'We Found Love' hitmaker surprised fans when she dropped the hotly-anticipated LP as a gift to her "Navy", a collective term for her loyal supporters.
Sharing a link to download via streaming service TIDAL, she wrote: "Gift to my navy!!! #ANTI Download with code: ANTI http://smarturl.it/RihANTI @samsungmobileus (sic)"
The news of her latest album comes after the 27-year-old beauty shared her first single, 'Work', which features Drake.
Within hours, the song rocketed to the number one spot in 70 countries worldwide.
Announcing the news, she wrote in a series of tweets: "FIRST SINGLE #WORK ft. @Drake from #ANTI is here!! Meanwhile, Rihanna is reportedly convinced her new album will earn her a Grammy award.
A source said: "The album is going to take the music world by storm. There's been so much hype surrounding the album and Rihanna has put a lot of pressure on herself to follow up her past work.
"Both her and people who have heard it think this album is going to dominate. She thinks it will win her a Grammy."

Shift K3Y thanks Skrillex for support

Shift K3Y has thanked Skrillex for supporting at the very start of his career.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter has nothing but respect for the EDM producer-and-DJ - who has collaborated with many artists such as A$AP Rocky, The Game and Diplo - for getting behind his music in the early days when he was virtually unknown.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Skrillex is the biggest fan of all things dance music related. You know he was like the tenth person to follow me on Twitter when I had literally 10 followers. He doesn't care about numbers, he's just there for the latest and the best dance music. Whenever I have spoken to him it's been very positive so it's nice."
Shift K3Y grew up in a musical household as his dad is Chaz Jankel, the keyboard player and guitarist from Ian Dury and The Blockheads.
The producer - whose real name is Lewis Jankel - is always inspired by his father's tales from his career, especially when he recalls working with legends like Sir Paul McCartney and Quincy Jones.
Shift K3Y - who is currently working on his debut album - said: "The discussions that me and my dad have help me a lot. When he's talking about when he worked with Quincy Jones, or Sting or Paul McCartney. His stories of working with these people and their energy, you know, about the balance between egos, and how they were in the studio. They are the lessons that I've taken away rather than literal chords or drum beats or whatever.
"It's interesting when my dad was in his 30s he was in a very similar stage in his career to what I'm doing now, he moved to LA and started making funk and R&B and dance records which is pretty similar to what I do now."
