Sam Smith to keep mum away from Grammy Awards

Sam Smith won't let his mum near his Grammy Awards.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is nominated in six categories at the ceremony - which will take place on Sunday February 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles - and is eager to protect the trophies if he does win, so would only let his mother "touch it once".
He said: "People would say, 'Are you going to give them [the trophies] to your mom?' and I would be like, 'No.' It doesn't have her name on it. She can touch it once."
Along with nods in the Best New Artist and Best Pop Performance categories, the 'Stay With Me' hitmaker is up for the coveted Album of the Year award for his debut record 'In the Lonely Hour' and although he is hoping to win, he admitted he would be "weirded out" if Beyonce didn't win the prize for her self-titled fifth record.
He explained: "If I was to win [Album of the Year], I would be very weirded out. I just think Beyonce is going to get it. Her album is incredible."
The star - who will perform with nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige at the event - added he feels "honoured" to be tied with Pharrell Williams and Beyonce for the most nominations of any artists this year, branding the accomplishment, "crazy".
He told ET Canada: "It's a little odd for me," Smith admits. "They have been around for a long, long time and for me to get the same amount of nominations as them for my first record is crazy. I am just honoured."
The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast exclusively on 4Music in the UK at 9pm on Monday February 9.

Noel Gallagher offers to write songs for Liam Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has offered to write songs for Liam Gallagher.
The High Flying Birds star admitted he would be happy to pen solo tracks for his brother and former Oasis bandmate following the split of his group Beady Eye in October last year.
The 47-year-old singer said: "I'd write him a few songs, I've got a few songs lying around that he'd be good at singing. But I'm not sure what he plans to do or if plans to do anything."
When asked what kind of tracks he would write for Liam, 42, he told NME: "Some f**king good ones, better than the lot he was singing last time for sure."
Noel recently confessed he doesn't think Liam will be out of the "music game" for long.
He said of his sibling - whom he often bumps into at Manchester City matches: "I see him at the football and we talk.
"Liam won't be out of the music game for long, and he shouldn't be, because there aren't many people like that still left."
Noel also revealed the brothers still wind each other up, branding Liam "a cheeky little ****" after he said he could have sung the High Flying Birds track 'Everybody's On The Run' better than him.
He joked: "He said, 'I'd have smashed it.'
"I was like, 'Yeah, whatever'."

Olly Murs wants Vegas residency for nan

Olly Murs dreams of landing a Las Vegas residency for his nan.
The 'Wrapped Up' singer has performed across the world but still admits he is desperate to secure a deal in the gambling capital in Nevada before his grandmother passes away because he wants to make her proud.
He said: "My big dream is to do Vegas one day, I really would.
"My nan is a huge [Frank] Sinatra and Elvis [Presley] fan and if I could do one thing before she dies is do a show in Vegas, have my name in lights in Vegas, I think she would probably die then. I think she would probably have a heart attack seeing it.
"She just always said to me, 'One day you'll do it'. And I was like, 'Hopefully'."
Explaining the reasoning behind his desire to play in the US city, the 30-year-old singer said he wants to follow in the footsteps of "legends" such as Sir Elton John, who currently has a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Hotel.
Speaking to Billboard, he continued: "You know if you've made it big in America when you get a slot in Vegas. If you look at the stars that do it, Elton John, Celine Dion and Boyz II Men, they're real legends."
The former 'The X Factor' contestant was previously tipped by respected songwriter Claude Kelly to land a string of dates in the city because of his great talent as a performer.
He said: "I'll probably get in trouble for saying this, but Olly is probably one of my favourite artists to work with.
"He is going to be around and be a world class entertainer, he is still very young and has a long way to go.
"I see Olly doing Vegas at some point, he's a great guy."

Cheryl debuts Only Human video

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has released her video for 'Only Human'.
The 31-year-old singer has revealed the clip for the track, which she has described as her favourite out of all the singles she has ever made, above chart-topping hits 'Fight For This Love', 'Crazy Stupid Love' and 'Promise This'.
Writing on Twitter, she said: "I'm happy to announce my third single 'Only Human', this single is my personal favourite so far."
Produced and co-written by Matt Schwartz, the video shows the star singing in front of stunning landscapes, and appearing to control the world as she opens her hand to show a cosmic scene in her palm.
Cheryl - who wed beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini last year after three months of dating - also displays her fashionable streak in several stylish outfits, including a figure-hugging yellow frock and a coral tutu which she pairs with a crop top.
The brunette beauty is hoping the single will be her sixth track to top the singles charts, after becoming the only British female to have five number ones in the UK when 'I Don't Care' debuted at number one in November, selling 82,000 copies in its first week.
The single is taken from her fourth studio LP of the same name, which reached number one in the UK album charts in November.
You can watch the video for 'Only Human' at www.muzu.tv/cheryl-cole/only-human-video/2356449/ and the track is officially released on March 22.

Jimmy Page getting ‘match fit’ for concerts

Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page has started rehearsing to get "match fit" for his live comeback.
The 71-year-old guitarist no longer wants to wait for his former bandmate Robert Plant to agree to a Led Zep reunion and has decided to get back on stage on his own.
Jimmy is practising to get his guitar playing up to speed and thinks he'll be ready for the concerts closer to the end of the year.
Speaking at the launch of the 40th anniversary deluxe reissue of Led Zeppelin album 'Physical Graffiti', at Olympic Studios in London, he said: "How it starts off is that you have to play guitar and get match fit first, that's currently what I'm in the process of doing now. I'm sort of slowly in the process of doing that now. It'll be closer to the end of the year rather than say, next month. I'm definitely warming up on the touchline, let's put it that way."
Jimmy insists his stage show will be something completely new for him and he won't be relying on guest vocalists to fill in for Plant on his tracks when he performs.
When asked by BANG Showbiz during the Q&A he had garnered any inspiration from Queen's recent gigs with Adam Lambert - who has replaced the late Freddie Mercury on vocals - he said: "Well what I'm going to do is do a project of my own. What I'm doing is something that's going to be quite different really. It won't be anything that, hopefully, you would imagine I'd do."
The deluxe edition of 'Physical Graffiti' is the latest release in the Led Zeppelin reissue series and comes with a companion audio disc which features seven previously unreleased tracks, including rough mixes of 'In My Time of Dying' and 'Houses of the Holy' and a very early mix of 'Trampled Under Foot' entitled 'Brandy & Coke'.
The album will be available from February 23, almost 40 years to the day after the LP's original February 24, 1975, release.

Lady Gaga working with Sir Paul McCartney

Lady Gaga is working with Sir Paul McCartney.
The 'Do What U Want' hitmaker has shared a photo of herself in the studio with the former The Beatles star, and revealed she originally hung up on him when he called her to propose the idea of collaborating because she thought it was someone playing a joke on her.
Along with a photo of herself and the iconic musician next to a drum kit on Instagram, she wrote: "Always a good time with my buddy. I'll never forget when he called me last year to work and I hung up the phone cuz I thought it was a prank! (sic)"
The 28-year-old musician is currently making the follow-up to her third solo studio album 'Artpop', which was released in 2013, and has been working with the 'Let It Be' singer as well as Disco producer Giorgio Moroder.
Another photo posted on her Instagram account also sparked rumours of a collaboration with Adele recently, as it showed the pair hanging out in Los Angeles online.
Meanwhile, Sir Paul has been busy working with other musicians as he features on Rihanna's new single 'FourFiveSeconds' which he will perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (08.02.15), as well as Kanye West's emotional track 'Only One' which is about the 37-year-old rapper's 19-month-old daughter, North.

Katy Perry singing at Grammys?

Katy Perry is preparing a Grammy Awards performance.
The 30-year-old pop sensation is planning to perform the touching ballad 'By the Grace of God' at the ceremony on February 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which is taken from her fourth studio album, 'Prism'.
Billboard magazine reports the 'Roar' hitmaker is hoping to recreate her slowed down 2011 Grammys performance at which she sang her track 'Not Like the Movies' before launching into an energetic rendition of her hit single 'Teenage Dream'.
Explaining the meaning behind the track in 2013, the pop sensation revealed it was inspired by a "tough" time in her personal life following her divorce from comedian Russell Brand, when she contemplated suicide.
She said: "That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'"
As well as performing, the 13-time nominee will also be hoping for a win in the Best Pop Vocal Album category, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Juicy J on 'Dark Horse'.
The performance will come just a week after her 13-minute performance at the Super Bowl halftime show which was watched by a record 118.5 million viewers.
The 57th annual event will also see Madonna, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran take to the stage, as well as Rihanna, Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney who will perform their new single 'FourFiveSeconds'.
