Noel Gallagher working with Jamie xx

Noel Gallagher is reportedly working with Jamie xx on his next album.
The 47-year-old musician recently revealed he has started working on the follow-up to his second LP, 'Chasing Yesterday' - which was released in March - and has hinted he may be working with The xx DJ.
After saying he's collaborating with a "mystery producer", he was questioned on whether it was the 26-year-old musician, to which he replied: "Did you just say Jamie xx? Yeah, well, no comment.
"I can tell you it's not f**king Timbaland, or Jay Z."
A spokesperson for Noel declined to comment on suggestions the pair are working together, although the news comes just a week after the former Oasis star confessed his third studio album as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is already well under way.
He said: "I'm already a bit of the way into my next record. As for what it will eventually say on the cover though remains to be seen."
Speculation over the working relationship was heightened when the rocker admitted he is pleased to be reaching a new "generation" with his music.
He added:"I'm not sure why or how it's happened but I'm glad it has, and if this tour is anything to go by then there seems to be yet another generation coming through who are discovering whatever it is I do, two decades after the fact. God bless them."

Brian Wilson ‘can’t write a song’ to save his life

Brian Wilson "can't write a song" to save his life.
The Beach Boys founder has revealed although he released the solo album 'No Pier Pressure' earlier this year, he struggles to come up with new material these days as he constantly wants to revisit his old music.
He explained: "I can't write a song to save my life. I sit at the piano and try, but all want to do is rewrite 'California Girls'. How am I gonna do something better than that? It's a f**ked-up trip."
The 73-year-old star confessed he had to walk out of a screening of 'The Wrecking Crew' - a documentary about the Los Angeles session musicians who played on a number of records in the 60s including Beach Boys' classics - because seeing clips of himself in his 20s made him nostalgic.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "That was a real ball-puncher. A heavy nostalgia thing.
"I had so much energy, I had it so together. I'd like to have some of that back."
Wilson also admitted although he may be forced to retire in the near future, he'd like to keep making music for as long as possible.
He added: "I've carried a lot of weight on my shoulders - a heavy load. For me, music is about love. Love is the message I want to share. I hope people feel the love in my music. That makes the hard work worth it."

Cara Delevingne collaborates with Nile Rodgers

Cara Delevingne has enlisted the help of Nile Rodgers to get her music career off the ground.
The 22-year-old beauty, who's best known for her catwalk modelling, has turned her attention to acting and singing in more recent times, and has called on the legendary producer - who's worked with the likes of David Bowie and Madonna - to propel her music career.
Nile told The Sun newspaper: "I love her, she's awesome. I would say she's a rock chick and a really cool one too.
"It's not helping, it's collaborating. When she played me her tracks I was shocked, it's cool.
"That's the cool thing about music, you get to be shocked.
"You never know how a person is going to touch someone else's soul. They come with music that is going to blow people away and you never expect it.
"She's gorgeous, I couldn't help but notice stuff like that too."
Earlier this month, Cara - who stars in the teen comedy movie 'Paper Towns' - confessed she was "terrified" to leave modelling.
Cara explained she felt like she was being "fake" in front of the camera on photo shoots.
She said: "The thrill of acting is making a character real. Modelling is the opposite of real. It's being fake in front of the camera.
"I'm not sure I understand what fashion is anymore. I admit I was terrified to leave. I mean, the bubble gives you a kind of dysfunctional family. When you're in it, you get it. And the second you're out of it, you're like, 'What the hell just happened?'"

Nile Rodgers on Joe Jackson’s anger: ‘It was sort of funny’

Nile Rodgers thought Joe Jackson's angry outbursts were "funny".
The veteran songwriter and guitarist regularly toured with The Jackson 5, who were managed by their father Joe, during their early years, but claims he never witnessed the abuse the band members claim they were subjected to and instead just said the music manager was "very tough".
When questioned on whether he was aware of the mistreatment, he told BANG Showbiz: "Not really, because it wasn't ... it was never in my life. We were just on the road. Joe Jackson was almost like our tour manager too so I took it all with a grain of salt. To me it was sort of funny."
The Jackson 5 - featuring brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson - claimed to have suffered severe emotional and physical abuse from a young age while performing, with Joe since admitting to beating them with belts if they failed to meet his high standards.
Instead, the 'Good Times' hitmaker said Joe's verbal abuse is something he has grown to expect from individuals in the music industry because he has been shouted at by "tough band leaders and managers" for his whole life.
Speaking at Kylie Minogue's Barclaycard British Summertime concert in London's Hyde Park, where he also performed, he said: "I mean, when you're working, especially when I was starting out, the R&B music business was very, very tough, and you're accustomed to tough band leaders and managers and stuff like that, so to me I was just learning. Record executives screaming at me is like, normal. It's like, 'That record sucks, get out of my office!' and then it becomes number one and they go, 'Oh wow I love that record. The first time you played it I loved it!' and I'm like, 'Yeah, sure'."

Slipknot taking two-year hiatus

Slipknot will take a two-year hiatus at the end of their current tour.
The band's lead singer Corey Taylor has revealed they intend to take an extended period of time out once they finish the remaining dates of their world tour in October in order to pursue individual projects.
He said: "We're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to let everything chill. I'm gonna go do my thing, everybody else is gonna go do their thing."
The 'Wait and Bleed' rockers - also including Mick Thomson, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson, Shawn Crahan, Chris Fehn, Alessandro Venturella and Jay Weinberg - have been touring in support of their latest album '.5: The Gray Chapter' for several months, but Corey said Shawn is keen to concentrate on his burgeoning film career.
He explained:"I know Clown's [Shawn Crahan] got movies that he wants to make, which is very cool. He just wrapped his first feature a couple of months ago, which I'm pretty stoked for him about."
The group - who lost their bassist Paul Gray in 2010 following a morphine overdose - will finish their current tour in Sacramento on October 24, but the 41-year-old musician insisted he's sure the group will return "in a couple of years".
He told Swedish website rocksverige.se: "In a couple of years we'll get back together and see what happens again. Kind of what we used to do before we lost Paul."

Taylor Swift criticised by photographer

Taylor Swift has been branded a hypocrite by a photographer.
Jason Sheldon has penned an open letter calling the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker's photography policy "unfair", just a day after she announced she would be withdrawing her music from Apple's new streaming service because they wouldn't be paying writers, producers and artists during a three-month free trial period.
Speaking about the singer's decision to stand up against Apple, he wrote on his blog: "I applaud it. It's great to have someone with a huge following standing up for the rights of creative people and making a stand against the corporate behemoths who have so much power they can make or break someone's career."
However, he then posted a copy of the contract each freelance photographer is made to sign when taking pictures at her shows, which stipulates images can only be used once, with worldwide rights then belonging to her.
He continued: "How are you any different to Apple? If you don't like being exploited, that's great ... make a huge statement about it, and you'll have my support. But how about making sure you're not guilty of the very same tactic before you have a pop at someone else?"
Continuing to criticise the 25-year-old star, he accused her of using him and other photographers in order to get "marketing material for free".
He added: "Photographers need to earn a living as well. Like Apple, you can afford to pay for photographs so please stop forcing us to hand them over to you while you prevent us from publishing them more than once, ever.
"With all due respect to you too Taylor, you can do the right thing and change your photo policy. Photographers don't ask for your music for free. Please don't ask us to provide you with your marketing material for free."
Meanwhile, Taylor's boyfriend Calvin Harris has congratulated her for her letter, which prompted Apple to announce they have reversed their decision, and will now pay acts while customers use their free trial.
He tweeted: "I just played a gig inside a giant owl and my girl just changed the entire music industry what a day (sic)."

Ed Sheeran’s ‘insane’ sales

Ed Sheeran thinks his record sales are "insane".
The 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker can't believe his second LP 'X' has clocked up almost 10 million sales in just a year.
He posted: "Multiply came out a year ago today, what a year, closing in on 10 million units which is insane. Thanks for anyone that owns it in any capacity x (sic)"
He later added: "Oh sweet, multiply has apparently also spent the entire year in the UK top 10. UK u rule (sic)"
Meanwhile, a mural of Ed made from 13,000 ticket stubs has been unveiled in London.
Ticket retailer StubHub created the 8m x 10m artwork in Russell Square after it was revealed his three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows have been the most searched/bought artist since the summer began.
Closely behind Ed - who performs at the iconic venue next month - in the search stakes is his close friend Taylor Swift in second place, with Paloma Faith in third.
Also featured on the list were Tom Odell in fourth place and Florence & the Machine - who will now headline this year's Glastonbury Festival after Foo Fighters were forced to pull out - in fifth, while Ella Eyre, Jessie J and Foxes have also proved popular.

StubHub's hottest acts appearing across UK stages this summer:
1. Ed Sheeran
2. Taylor Swift
3. Paloma Faith
4. Tom Odell
5. Florence & the Machine
6. Ella Eyre
7= Jessie J
7= Foxes
