Prides want Brandon Flowers collaboration

Prides want to collaborate with Brandon Flowers.
The trio revealed their ultimate collaboration would be with The Killers frontman as he is "the godfather of rock-pop".
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, the boys said: "Brandon Flowers would be amazing, he is like the godfather of rock-pop, that would be amazing.
"Ellie Goulding would be awesome too, we love Ellie. Calvin Harris would be good too."
The band is currently gearing up to the release of their debut album 'The Way Back Up' on Friday (10.07.15), but lead singer Stewart Brock confessed he would have turned to reality television to launch his career if he hadn't had success with his bandmates Callum Wiseman and Lewis Gardiner.
He said: "If I wasn't in the band now I can almost say for certain I would be on 'The X Factor'. My mum used to send me application forms every year.
"I'm not sure how well it would have gone, I think I would have been one of those who gets booted out and cries and throws a strop on Dermot O'Leary's shoulder.
"I would have sung Elton John - 'Rocket Man' or 'Your Song'.
"We love 'The X Factor' and when we were doing gigs last year we were actually gutted that we were missing the live shows every week."
For now though, the 'Higher Love' singers are focusing on their LP, which they promised shows their "emotional" side.
They added: "It's got some different vibes on there as well, a couple more emotional songs to it; we tried to push ourselves as much as we can with it."

Mark Ronson confirmed for V Festival

Mark Ronson has been added to the V Festival line-up.
The 'Uptown Funk' hitmaker will headline the annual event's Our House stage alongside iconic DJ A-Trak, with the duo teaming up for an exclusive set on Sunday August 23 in Chelmsford, Essex.
Mark Ronson said: "I became a DJ because I fell in love with hip-hop, while growing up in New York and listening to all the legendary NY DJ's, like Red Alert, Funk Flex & Stretch Armstrong. I wanted to bring a taste of that musical heritage to V Festival this year. I cannot wait to perform on Virgin Media's Our House stage with my homeboy A-Trak - it's going to be LIVE! (sic)"
The stage - which is inspired by old school block parties - will also feature drum 'n' bass stars DJ Goldie and MC GQ, as well as 'That's Not Me' rapper Skepta and a selection of other famous faces.
While Mark and A-Trak will perform at the event in Essex, Jungle will provide an exclusive headline DJ set for the crowds at V Festival Staffordshire on the same evening.
For music fans who can't be there, Mark's show will be live-streamed from the festival on Virgin Media's YouTube channel, while the telecommunications company will also provide free WiFi across the festival sites.
V Festival takes places at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex, and Weston Park in Staffordshire from August 22 - 23 2015.

Sam Smith ‘scared’ for tour

Sam Smith is "scared" about getting back on stage.
The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker has admitted he is worried about returning to life on the road after he was forced to cancel months of shows to undergo emergency surgery to save his voice.
When asked if he is ready for his upcoming tour, he told KISS FM: "I am. I'm scared. If anyone's listening I'm really going to try my absolute best, but I am scared though. It's quite intense to go into. But I love what I do and I wanted to do it, and hopefully I can hold it all together and perform every show."
In total, the 23-year-old singer took more than two months off as he recovered from his operation, but now has a packed schedule of festival appearances and a North American tour to take him through the summer.
Sam's troubles started back in April when he axed the remaining dates of his Australian tour due to being "vocally exhausted", later having surgery because he "had a small haemorrhage" on his vocal cords.
However, he is now set to return to Australia in November and December to make up for the string of shows he missed, with performances scheduled for Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.

Nathan Sykes cried making Ariana Grande song

Nathan Sykes got emotional recording a track dedicated to Ariana Grande.
The former 'The Wanted' member - who dated the 'Problem' hitmaker for four months in 2013 - burst into tears in the studio while recording a track about his ex.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 22-year-old star revealed: "It was quite an emotional day. I found that especially when you go over the lyrics again. It's like, 'Wow! Those are really deep lyrics.' I got really emotional writing it.
"I think three or four songs were really emotional to write.
"There's one song called 'Famous' which is about what do I have to do to make someone I care about, care about me as much as I do them? It's basically saying: do I have to be famous, will you only call me when I'm famous? Whenever I go through something that's not ideal, I don't feel sorry for myself. I go, 'My God, this is going to be such a great song'."
The 'Kiss Me Quick' singer showed no hard feelings towards the brunette beauty though as he thinks she's an "incredible talent".
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's fantastic she's doing so well because she is such an incredible talent.
"I've known her quite a while and I know how much she's always wanted a Grammy nomination, so she must have been so happy to get one this year."

Disclosure tease ‘sassy’ Lorde collaboration

Disclosure have teased a "sassy" Lorde collaboration.
The duo - comprised of brothers Howard, 21, and Guy Lawrence, 24 - have recorded a track with the 18-year-old singer for their second studio album and said it is "the most equal collaboration" on the LP because the 'Royals' hitmaker is so down-to-earth.
Howard said: "She turned up on her own, no management or bodyguard.
"That's the most equal collaboration on the record. You can really hear her sound -- she has this sassy yet vulnerable thing."
The track, which was co-written and sung by the New Zealander, was one of the final additions to the album after Lorde - whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor - dropped by their studio last month.
Revealing they were recording together, she posted a selfie online, writing: "Making tunes and getting Oreo milkshakes with Disclosure (sic)."
The 'White Noise' hitmakers have also teamed up with four-time Grammy Award winner Sam Smith once again for their next album, 'Caracal', having previously recorded their hit single 'Latch' with the chart-topping star.
Speaking about heading back into the studio with the 23-year-old singer, Guy told Rolling Stone magazine: "It was really exciting, 'cause we hadn't seen him in so long.
"We had three whole days to hang out with Sam and write, which are two of my favourite things to do."

Meghan Trainor cancels more shows

Meghan Trainor has cancelled two more shows in Detroit and Chicago because of a hemorrhage on her vocal cords.
The 21-year-old singer - who rose to international prominence last year with the hit single 'All About That Bass' - was forced to announce the cancellation of a string of shows last week and while two more dates have been added to the list, Meghan has insisted she's making a good recovery.
Writing on Instagram, she said: "I have bad news, my doctor says I have to postpone two more dates, Detroit & Chicago and sadly I have to cancel my appearance at the Common Ground Music Festival. But there is good news!! I'm feeling much better, have already rescheduled most dates and will come back around to see you all soon!! (sic)"
Meghan also thanked her doctor for treating the hemorrhage on her vocal cords.
She wrote: "Thank you Dr. Kessler for seeing me immediately and being so helpful and thank you guys for all the edits/get well posts you made. You made me feel a lot better about this crappy situation. I love you all so much!! (sic)"

The Weeknd records with Kanye West, Ed Sheeran

The Weeknd has recorded songs with Kanye West and Ed Sheeran.
The 25-year-old musician is currently working on his second album - tentatively titled 'Chapter III' - and his pal Ed has revealed he has recorded a song with the producer for the collection, with the 'All Day' rapper also set to appear on the LP.
Recalling a visit to The Weeknd's house in Toronto during which he invited Ed to work with him in the studio, he told Zane Lowe during his Beats 1 radio show: "In my head I'm like, 'The Weeknd doesn't want to write a song!' The Weeknd doesn't work with anyone. He's got one feature on his album, which is Kanye West. He doesn't want to do that."
As well as confirming the collaboration with the 38-year-old star, the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer confessed they did end up recording a track together, teasing it, "is really, really f**king good".
The news comes just two months after the 'Earned It' hitmaker brought Kanye out as a special guest during his set at Californian music festival Coachella.
The Weeknd - whose real name is Abel Tesfaye - is expected to release the highly-anticipated collection, which is the follow-up to 2013's 'Kiss Land' which featured rapper Drake on the track 'Live For', later this year.

Pete Townshend reimagines Quadrophenia

Pete Townshend changed the course of rock music last night (05.07.15) when he premiered a classical version of The Who's famous mod opera 'Quadrophenia' at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The 70-year-old guitarist was joined by an army of classical musicians from the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - including dozens of violinists, cellists, and brass players - a hundred-piece choir, singers Alfie Boe and Billy Idol and actor Phil Daniels, who appeared in the original movie, for a spectacular new take on the classic record.
Townshend - who had replaced his normally grungy grey T-shirt and jeans for a smart black suit and pristine white shirt - was on stage for much of the event singing the part of 'The Godfather' as well as playing guitar.
Speaking after the show, a beaming Townshend told BANG Showbiz's Managing Director Rick Sky: "I wanted to get a Who piece saved for posterity. I didn't want to die without my most important works being committed to sheet music for future generations. Of course there is some vanity involved in this but so many Who songs are such great songs that I felt need keeping and preserving as scores.
"Rachel [Fuller, Townshend's partner] is a classically trained composer and she did wonders with the orchestration and score. It means 'Quadrophenia' can now be played in all sorts of ways - from a small ensemble led by a piano to a large orchestra."
After a busy few weeks for the Who - including headline slots at Glastonbury and Barclaycard British Summer Time - the veteran rocker is planning a brief break but then will be back with a variety of new projects.
He added: "It's been a really hectic time for me. I am going to have a little rest because I want time to enjoy what I have now and to be happy and relaxed, but don't worry, I have got so many different projects lined up, including commissioning more operas. I am writing new songs all the time and also want to publish a novel."
Much pop music can lend itself to classical re-working but in the case of The Who this is especially so, partly because of Townshend's love of classical composers and sadly deceased Who bass player John Entwistle's rigorous training in classical trumpet and French Horn. This meant that the classical reinterpretation of 'Quadrophenia' - whose stand out moments last night were '5:15', 'Love Reign O'er Me' and especially the instrumental pieces 'The Rock', 'I Am The Sea' and the title track 'Quadrophenia' - was able to transport the audience to a different emotional space using the light, shade and subtlety that classical music can provide when well-executed.
At the end of the show, in true classical style, Townshend and all his collaborators took numerous curtain calls and bows with renowned conductor Robert Ziegler, taking his final bow dressed humorously in a Mod parka complete with Target logo.
Pete Townshend's 'Classic Quadrophenia' has just been released on Deutsche Grammophon.

Sarah Harding premieres debut single

Sarah Harding has premiered her debut solo single, 'Threads'.
The track is the first music to be released by the singer since she split up with her Girls Aloud bandmates in 2013, with the star admitting she is taking a "new direction musically" with her own material.
She said: "I've spent a long time writing and recording, and after co-writing 'Threads' I really feel this was the track to release as my debut solo single and show my new direction musically. It's a very exciting time for me at the moment!"
She added on Twitter: "It's me channelling my inner rock chick...think Avril Levigne crossed with a bit of Gwen Stefani but me inbetween (sic)."
The 33-year-old musician will release the track on August 7 through Sony RED UK as part of a four-song EP, featuring a remix by K Gee and two other new songs, 'Live Before I Die' and 'Indelible'.
Sarah confessed it has been odd working on her own material and shooting videos on her own following 11 years in Girls Aloud though, especially because she's used to her bandmates Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle always being around.
Asked what it was like making the 'Threads' video on her own, she said on Twitter: "Weird not having the girls around tbh but this is something Iv needed to do for a long time now so...cathartic (sic)."
