MTV UK announces nominees for Brand New 2018

MTV UK has announced its shortlist for MTV Brand New 2018.
The list of ones-to-watch nominees has been selected by MTV officials, key music influencers and industry representatives, and includes some of the most exciting emerging artists in the UK today, such as Bad Sounds and Elderbrook.
Of their nomination, musical group Bad Sounds said: "We’ve pretty much just made videos ourselves with friends, we never wanted to do the moody cool band thing so we’d just come up with stupid ideas for videos and stuff we thought was funny.
"We’re surprised that MTV even show them, let alone put us in their Brand New Top 10 for 2018."
Elderbrook was similarly excited to have been nominated for MTV Brand New 2018.
The musician explained: "Really honoured to be picked for MTV’s Brand New. I grew up watching MTV so it’s a big honour to be included in this."
The nominees – all of whom have been tipped for big things in 2018 – are set to go head to head in a public vote on Instagram in January, with a winner poised to be announced in the new year.
Anna Karatziva, the Head of Talent and Music at MTV UK, explained: "MTV Brand New is one of my favourite campaigns of the year. It’s really hard choosing the shortlist but it’s incredibly rewarding and exciting to work with talent at this stage of their career.
"We’re really looking forward to the public vote and supporting our finalists throughout the year!"
Recent MTV Brand New campaigns have helped to bring the likes of Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine and Jessie J to the attention of the public.

MTV Brand New 2018 Shortlist:

Bad Sounds
Elderbrook
Lotto Boyzz
Mabel
Not3s
Pale Waves
Sigrid
Tom Walker
Yxng Bane
