Jennifer Hudson never considered acting

Jennifer Hudson "never thought" about becoming an actress.
The 32-year-old star shot to fame after competing on 'American Idol', and went on to pick up an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role in 'Dreamgirls', and doesn't think she would have been considered for the film if it hadn't been for one of her performances on the show.
She said: "I always wanted to sing and make my living doing that, it's that simple. But God always gives you a little bit more than you asked for and I ended up acting. Now I'm an actress and singer and it's so weird.
"I never thought about acting, but because of 'American Idol' I had this platform and Barry Manilow arranged the song I was eliminated off on as if it was 'I'm Telling You'.
"It had the same structure and people thought I was singing 'I'm Telling You' and from the performance they started saying Jennifer Hudson for Effy White [in 'Dreamgirls']."
And Jennifer still can't believe she won awards for her role in the film.
She added: "As far as 'Dreamgirls' all I wanted to do was get my lines right and do the job I was hired to do and I ended up winning an Oscar, and it's still surreal to this day."

Emma Stone fell in love on-screen

Emma Stone had never fallen in love on-screen before working on 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.
The 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' actress and her boyfriend and co-star Andrew Garfield, who she's been dating since 2011, have been described as the new Audrey Hepburn and Spencer Tracy by Marvel's studio boss, Avi Arad, and Emma agrees with the comparison.
She told The Guardian newspaper's G2: "I could relate to that feeling, that all-encompassing, you'll-die-for-this-person first love. It's everything I felt in my first relationship, that total Romeo and Juliet story played out. I never had an opportunity to fall in love like that in a movie before."
The 25-year-old star, who plays Gwen Stacy alongside Garfield's Spider-Man, relates to her character because she claims she was "ambitious" when she was young.
She explained: "Gwen is clear on what she wants to do with her life - in terms of her job and her sense of purpose. I think and hope that I am in the same ballpark there.
"Science-wise, though, she is much better than me."
Stone has since grown accustomed to the attention which comes with her role in superhero franchise, although she admits she still finds certain aspects strange.
She said: "More work has come my way and it has compromised my anonymity. That loss is weird, I get to hear my name a lot more, 'Emma! Emma!' it's a bit odd."

Kevin Spacey not interested in ‘crap’ movies

Kevin Spacey isn't interested in "crap" movie roles.
The 'House of Cards' star's last appearance in a film was in 2011 comedy 'Horrible Bosses', and aside from working on the sequel, for a reported $1 million, his focus has been on TV and theatre because he claims film-makers don't offer him good enough parts.
He said: "You'd be shocked. There are a lot of people out there who offer roles to actors because they'll elevate their movie to a place the movie would never reach.
"They offer them a s**tload of money for a crap part, but it doesn't make the movie any better. And I'm not interested in elevating someone's crap movie."
The 54-year-old actor confessed, however, that he would happily work with the legendary director behind movies such as 'The Wolf of Wall Street', 'Gangs of New York' and 'The Departed'.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "Unless it's Martin Scorsese, and it's a really significant role, f**k off."
Nevertheless, Spacey is in talks to take on the role of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in an upcoming biopic, but aside from that he claims he's going to focus on his commitments as director of The Old Vic theatre in London.
He added: "It was absolutely unappealing to me to end up in a lot of movies I shouldn't do, to start showing up and doing the same thing over and over."

Holly Hunter and Callan Mulvey join Batman vs Superman

Holly Hunter and Callan Mulvey are joining Zack Snyder's Batman vs Superman movie.
'Paradise' star Hunter impressed director Snyder who is working on the sequel to 2013 blockbuster 'Man of Steel' and although the role is yet to be named he claims it was written "specifically" for her.
Snyder said: "Holly has always been one of my favourite actresses. She has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her."
Mulvey will appear alongside Henry Cavill who will reprise his role as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, and Snyder was thrilled to announce they'll be teaming up once again after filming '300: Rise of an Empire' together.
He explained: "I just had the good fortune to work with Callan on '300: Rise of an Empire' and was very impressed with his incredible talent.
"He's a fantastic actor and I'm looking forward to having the chance to work with him again."
Warner Bros has also cast Tao Okamoto who starred in 'The Wolverine' in the forthcoming film.
Snyder gushed: "And, quite simply, Tao is a striking presence whose beauty is aptly rivaled by her amazing abilities as an actress. I'm really excited to have her joining us on this adventure."
The film is currently being written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer.
Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
The film is tipped for a May 6, 2016, release.

Kristen Dunst scared to work with Viggo Mortensen

Kirsten Dunst was scared of working with Viggo Mortensen.
The 'Spider-Man' actress will star alongside the 'Lord of the Rings' actor in the upcoming thriller 'The Two Faces of January' and she's admitted, although his casting convinced her to accept the part, she was nervous about working with him.
She said: "He's one of those actors ... The first time I met him he was very reserved. It was in an elevator. I was like, 'Hi'. He was like, Oh hi.'
"I learned later he was very shy. So I was nervous, even a little scared, to work with him. I thought, 'This is going to be intense."
The 31-year-old star also revealed that although many people see Mortensen as a very serious man, he's actually very funny and she thinks he should consider more comedic roles.
She added to Haper's Bazaar magazine: "Then I got the whole other side, which I don't think many people know. He should do comedy, I've told him that.
"I laughed so much with Viggo ... I'm sure he wouldn't be happy with people knowing how fun he is."

Samuel L. Jackson: Captain America shooting scared public

Samuel L. Jackson has revealed workers in Cleveland thought he was being shot at when he filmed scenes for 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
The actor reprises his role as super-spy Nick Fury in the Marvel sequel - which sees Chris Evans return as the titular superhero - and he recalls one shoot-out sequence filmed in the city left some office staffers fearing for his safety.
During an interview on 'The Daily Show' - which airs on 'Comedy Central' and 'Comedy Central Extra' - Jackson said: "At one point in the movie there's a moment where you see 19 guys shooting at the car I'm in, the windows are bullet proof so I'm just sitting there feeling dope but the people in the office buildings didn't know so they were looking out of the windows and were like, 'F**k!' "
Jackson is now a veteran of superhero and sci-fi films having appeared as Nick Fury six times with a contract to appear in another three movies and the three 'Star Wars' prequels.
The 65-year-old actor portrayed Jedi Knight Mace Windu in the trilogy and was thrilled when director George Lucas told him he'd make him look like the "baddest" man in the universe when he added CGI to his green screen scenes.
Jackson explained: "Lucas said, 'You kick all the ass you want and we will make sure you look like the baddest motherf***er in the universe!
"So (I'm shooting and) I have the music playing in my head, making the lightsaber moves and then when I go to see it in the theatre I was like "F**k! Look at me!' "

Quentin Tarantino lawsuit gets January 2015 court date

Quentin Tarantino's court date against Gawker has been set.
The director will face off against the website, who he is accusing of contribution to copyright infringement, in court on January 27, 2015, a year to the date of the filmmaker filing the $1 million lawsuit, Deadline.com is reporting.
Tarantino was furious when Gawker posted a link to a leaked copy of his 'Hateful Eight' script, forcing him to scrap plans for the Western, but the site maintains there is no case and says directing people to an online version of the script was fair use as it hadn't "reproduced" the material.
The three-day trial may allegedly not even take place since Judge John F. Walter has moved the matter to private mediation.
The hearing for April 14 has now been dropped, and the two parties will have until September 8, 2014, to complete the mediation and prepare their cases.
This comes two days after Gawker hit back at 'Kill Bill' helmer Tarantino for the second time, stating that his claim "misconstrues, misunderstands, and misstates" the law and accusing him of only pursuing the matter because of his "displeasure with Gawker's past and present reporting about him."
The award-winning director claims he only gave the script for 'The Hateful Eight' to six people and believes one of them must have let their agent see it, who subsequently sent it on.
