Johnny Depp teams up with daughter for Yoga Hosers

Johnny Depp is teaming up with his daughter for his next movie.
The 51-year-old star will appear opposite 15-year-old Lily-Rose in upcoming comic book movie 'Yoga Hosers', and the pair are onboard alongside another father-daughter combination in Kevin Smith, who will direct the motion picture, and his 15-year-old daughter Harley Quinn Smith.
Kevin, who has also written the screenplay, told Hollywood Reporter: "People always ask me, 'Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?'
"This is it - but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our anti-heroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two 15-year-old girls."
Lily-Rose and Harley will play two teenage yoga enthusiasts who go up against a villain threatening to spoil their big party plans.
Kim Leadford, CEO of StarStream Entertainment - which is financing the film - said: "The timing couldn't be more perfect as so many production companies are struggling to find content to fill a serious void in the market of female superheroes and anti-heroes. And it's pretty exciting to have their dads making the film with them."
Several other stars have also joined the cast including Adam Brody, Austin Butler and Tyler Posey.
The film follows on from Smith's horror dramedy 'Tusk' and the director has brought a number of cast members with him from the movie to star in 'Yoga Hosers'.
As well as Depp, who played Guy LaPointe in 'Tusk', Haley Joel Osment, Michael Parks, Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez and Ralph Garman are also set to star in 'Yoga Hosers', which is expected to be released next year.

Ivan Reitman looks forward to ‘female-centric’ Ghostbusters 3

The long-awaited 'Ghostbusters 3' looks set to have a more female-led cast than the two earlier films.
That's according to Canadian producer and director Ivan Reitman, who's revealed he's discussed the issue with fellow director Paul Feig, the man who is leading the project.
He said: "On the drafts that I've been supervising, there's always been a very important female presence. It's nice to know that Paul is interested in the same thing. I met with him because I'll be producing whatever the new 'Ghostbusters' is.
"The studio is very interested in it, and certainly Aykroyd and I, and the late Harold Ramis until he passed away. We'll see. I don't like talking about it because this thing has been in such flux for so long that people, particularly online, are annoyed about it, and that's not anybody's desire or hidden plan."
The 67-year-old, who worked on the two earlier 'Ghostbusters' films, revealed that one issue delaying the project has been the reluctant attitude of Bill Murray.
He explained: "[Bill is] somewhat reluctant about most things. I think that affected the timing of things, to a great extent.
"We all wanted him back, at the centre of it, as well. But I think there's still a great story in 'Ghostbusters' and a great conceit about it that has held true, for all these years. And I think there's a great movie to be made, with a new cast, as well."

Simon Pegg confirms new movie with Edgar Wright

Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are working on a new movie.
The pair have collaborated on three films over the last decade - 'Shaun of the Dead' (2004), 'Hot Fuzz' (2007) and 'The World's End' (2013) - and Pegg, 44, has revealed they already have another project in the pipeline.
He told BBC 6 Music: "Edgar and I were having a conversation the other day about it, and it has a title and everything. We're kind of into a creative cycle now."
Pegg added: "We made three films in ten years and hopefully in the next decade we'll make another three. I really love working with those guys and I wouldn't ever not want to work with them. It's not even a question."
The actor was careful not to reveal too many details about the new flick, but he was happy to confirm that he and long-time friend Nick Frost will appear in the Halloween special of the Disney channel's 'Phineas And Ferb'.
Pegg revealed that he and Frost would reprise their roles from 'Shaun of the Dead', the zombie comedy film released in 2004.

Filming completed for Jurassic World

Filming for 'Jurassic World' is complete and the film is ready to go into post production.
The eagerly-flick will hit cinemas in 2015 and Hollywood star Chris Pratt says fans can expect an "awesome" fourth instalment of the 'Jurassic Park' franchise, which started in 1993 in the memorable film starring Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil.
Pratt - who recently appeared as Peter Quill in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' - told Collider: "It's going to knock your socks off. It's gonna be so awesome, so awesome. And to the long-time fans of the franchise, it's in good hands.
"Colin [Trevorrow, the director] is a huge fan, he's gonna deliver a movie that is worthy of the brand and I swear to you it's just gonna be so good I already know it. I can tell."
The upcoming movie will feature many of the dinosaurs that appeared in the first 'Jurassic Park' film, as well as some that have never been seen before.
Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio and Omar Sy have all been cast in the film, which is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2015.

Writers of Star Trek 3 complete initial draft

The script for 'Star Trek 3' is nearing completion.
Roberto Orci, who is writing the script for the new flick alongside John D. Payne and Patrick McKay, confirmed an initial draft of the script has been completed and is set to be sent to bosses at Paramount, the studio behind the franchise.
The 41-year-old recently expressed an interest in directing the film, telling Collider: "I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. The studio has yet to even read the script. I'm in the middle of writing it, with the talented team of [John D.] Payne and [Patrick] McKay.
"They are true Star Trek fans, as well. So, I can't even think anything about the future until I give them a script and they greenlight it. Until that happens, everything else is just a rumour."
Orci thinks he is a unique position to assume the role, saying: "Having seen one of the best guys in the business [J.J. Abrams] direct two of them already, and to have seen it from the vantage point of a producer too, I know where a lot of the challenges are and where a lot of the fun is."
'Star Trek 3' is expected to hit cinema screens in 2016.

Bradley Cooper set to star as Mack Bolan

Bradley Cooper is set to play the role of Mack Bolan, the fictional character of Don Pendleton, in a new film.
The character was a terrorism fighter in the original Pendleton novels and the role will see Cooper, 39, reunite with 'The Hangover' director Todd Phillips, Deadline reports.
Linda Pendleton, the wife of Don, said that her husband wrote the first novel in the series, 'War Against the Mafia,' "out of his desire to express his discomfort with the reaction of many Americans to our soldiers who were dying for our country in the jungles of Vietnam and those coming home to outrageous verbal and physical abuse".
She added: "Mack Bolan became Don's symbolic statement. He also became every soldier's voice. Don created a heroic character in Bolan, a true hero who was dedicated to justice.
"Don created a heroic character in Bolan, a true hero who was dedicated to justice. The enemy that Bolan had to fight was no longer on the battlefields of Vietnam but right here on American soil, and that enemy was the Mafia."
Depending on the success of the first film, there is every chance that more movies inspired by the Pendleton novels will follow.

Dwayne Johnson set for Shazam

Dwayne Johnson has confirmed he will play a lead character in 'Shazam'.
The 42-year-old star has revealed he will be starring in the upcoming DC Comics movie but he is yet to decide whether to play the titular character or his enemy Black Adam.
Speaking to USA Today, he said: "I am putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role."
Both characters have magical powers with orphaned boy Shazam possessing the ability to morph into an adult superhero simply by saying his own name.
Black Adam is a warrior who clashes with the titular hero during his quest for world power.
Johnson previously revealed he met with Warner Bros. to discuss starring in a movie based on a DC Comics property in a Twitter Q&A session in January.
He tweeted at the time: "We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk (sic)"
The star has been busy of late after filming action movie 'Hercules', in which he portrayed the titular leader.
'Shazam' is set to be released in 2016.

Liam Neeson reluctant to appear in ‘phone call films’

Liam Neeson is wary of accepting roles in films similar to 'Taken'.
Neeson, 62, has enjoyed huge success with the 'Taken' franchise, which sees him play the role of a retired CIA operative, but the Irish-born star admits he was initially reluctant to accept a role in new film 'A Walk Among the Tombstones' because he thought it was too similar to 'Taken'.
He explained to Empire magazine: "When I first read Scott's [Frank, director-and-writer] script, I hesitated. Because I thought, 'Here we go, here's another [expletive] telephone call, talking to the bad guys.' So there was this huge question mark before taking it on."
Neeson said that unlike some of his co-stars - who took to listening to strange music in preparation for their roles - he finds it easy to tap into the film's dark mentality.
He added: "I knew what was required and I can easily access that kind of darkness, you know."
'A Walk Among the Tombstones' also features 'Very Good Girls' star Boyd Holbrook and Dan Stevens, who appeared in 'Dowton Abbey' until 2012, and will open in cinemas on September 19.
