Shawn Levy hints another Night at the Museum sequel

Shawn Levy has hinted there could be a fourth 'Night at the Museum' movie.
Although the latest instalment in the series, 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb', seems to bring night guard Larry Daley's story to a close, the director has left the door slightly open for another sequel with Rebel Wilson reprising her character Tilly in the lead role.
When asked if there could be a fourth film, Shawn said: "We do keep getting asked that question. I think, right now, in our minds, this movie brings closure to the franchise and to the characters. I suppose we can't predict the future and we have come to love Tilly, the new night guard, I suppose we'll see what happens next."
Rebel won't rule out a return as the loud-mouthed British Museum night guard but accepts the decision is out of her hands.
She said: "It's really a question for Shawn ... I did keep my hat from the movie, just in case they need me again. I paid $650 to keep it."
Rebel appears in the film with Ben Stiller - who plays Larry - Owen Wilson, Dan Stevens, Sir Ben Kingsley and the late Robin Williams.

Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal slams Hollywood sexism

Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal thinks sexism is "a systemic problem in Hollywood".
The business executive has held the role for more than a decade and believes while it is a sexist industry, Sony has been great at promoting gender equality.
The studio recently attracted outrage when hacker group Guardians of Peace leaked emails indicating 'The Hunger Games' star Jennifer Lawrence and Columbia Pictures production president Hannah Minghella were paid less than their male counterparts.
Speaking to the New York Times newspaper, she said: "There is a systemic problem in Hollywood, of course."
However, the 56-year-old movie mogul defended her company, branding it "ludicrous" to judge an "entire corporation" from "a few random emails, in fact, taken out of context."
The esteemed businesswoman continued to explain the studio is "committed to making movies about women. I don't know if any other studio can say that."
Continuing to support her argument, she named a number of notable female-led movies including the 'Ghostbusters' sequel - directed by Paul Feig - which begins shooting in January 2015 and action thriller 'Zero Dark Thirty' which was directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

The Interview made available to iTunes users in North America

'The Interview' has been made available to iTunes users in North America.
The release of the controversial film, which centres on a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, had been delayed amid terrorism threats, which prompted cinemas to refuse to screen the movie.
However, it has now been made available to rent or purchase on iTunes in North America.
In a statement, Apple said: "We're pleased to offer The Interview for rental or purchase on the iTunes store."
The film, which stars James Franco and Seth Rogen, was released on YouTube, Google Play and Xbox on Christmas Eve, while it was screened in selected US cinemas on Christmas Day.
It was recently confirmed that 'The Interview' has already become the number one online movie ever released by Sony.
As of December 27, the film had raked in more than $15 million and was downloaded more than two million times.
And with the movie having been made available to iTunes users in North America, the figures could rise substantially in the coming days.
Sony's initial decision to cancel the film's release had attracted significant criticism, including from President Barack Obama, who warned that it meant freedom of expression was under threat.

Tom Hardy is similar to Mel Gibson

Tom Hardy shares the same sense of "danger and unpredictability" as Mel Gibson.
The British actor takes over the lead role in 'Mad Max: Fury Road' 30 years after the Australian star played the part and director George Miller says the 37-year-old hunk was an easy choice as successor because the two men are very similar.
He said: "When I first met Mel there was a quality about him, on the one hand you wanted to get to really know him, he's very lovable, on the other hand there was an element of danger and unpredictability.
"There is that quality, that paradoxical thing that gives these actors charisma. It's always the paradox.
"The moment I saw Tom and engaged with him, he felt very much like that as an actor. It felt to me like Mel did all those years ago."
Tom stars in the movie alongside Charlie Theron as Furiosa and the blonde beauty was cast for her fearless nature.
The director explained: "[Furiosa] is very strong. We wanted someone who's unmistakably a woman, and she's a hardcore warrior.
"Charlize has the ability and the passion as an actor to go there without fear.
"I think there's a character that we haven't seen before. When you're casting, you're sort of looking for someone who breaks up those dimensions of the characters where there's overlap with the actual person."

Ian McKellen wants Middle Earth museum

Sir Ian McKellen wants the public to experience life in Middle Earth at a 'Lord of the Rings'-themed attraction.
The award-winning actor stars as Gandalf in 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' and he's called on director Peter Jackson to help create a museum for the two film series, which are based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien.
McKellen, 75, said: "Middle Earth actually is in our hearts. But it is up there on the screen in 'The Hobbit'. And aren't the actors lucky to be - more than anybody else, more than the director who's looking at it on his video screen - we are actually there.
"It is snow falling on our boots, it's grass under our feet and the wind blowing in our faces. We are actually there. And everybody else wants to be there too and that's why they ask questions, 'What was it like to be there?'
"The next development I hope, is that Peter is going to devise not more films but a situation that you can all go to that is as much theatrical as cinematic, a living museum where you have the experience of going into there and being there."
McKellen is very proud to have got to play Gandalf in 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, but recently admitted much of the success he has enjoyed during his career has been down to good "luck".
He said: "I have been so lucky throughout my career ... I've had friends right throughout my career who didn't have work, who should have had work ... If you genuinely be honest about it all, it's luck. John Hurt could've played Gandalf."

Dan Stevens worn out by armour

Dan Stevens was left exhausted from shooting action scenes in armour for 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb'.
The 32-year-old actor portrays Sir Lancelot in the comedy film and got to fight a mythical, multi-headed snake monster and a triceratops as one of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table.
Stevens admits it was tough work carrying out his stunts in his metal armour.
He told BANG Showbiz: "The biggest challenge was probably the armour, getting used to the weight of it specifically. It took quite a long time to get on. I rehearsed all the sword fights without the armour and got the hang of that but then doing it with the armour was very different, quite tiring. Even when you get out of it, you still feel very tired."
Dan also admitted it was tricky filming the fight scenes because the snake monster was created with CGI so when he had to shoot sequences he was swiping his sword at nothing and had to rely on director Shawn Levy's instructions.
The British star - who appears in the movie with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Rebel Wilson - explained: "You just have Shawn yelling at you, 'It's coming from the left. It's coming from the right, duck!' Sometimes there's a guy with a tennis ball to give you direction, but other than that nothing."

Warwick Davis: Star Wars will be amazing

Warwick Davis thinks 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is going to be an "amazing moment" for cinema.
The 44-year-old actor - who starred in 'Return of the Jedi' as Ewok Wicket - has been cast in the much-hyped sci-fi sequel and he's revealed he can barely contain his excitement for its release.
Warwick told BANG Showbiz: "What I'm most excited by is chance to see members of the old cast in the poster.
"I've been a fan of 'Star Wars' ever since the first film ['Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope'] came out in 1977. This just feels like an amazing moment."
Warwick also played several parts in 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace', including Greedo the Elder.
He recently confirmed he will star alongside returning cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, as well as new faces John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac, in the eagerly-awaited seventh film in the franchise.
Warwick revealed the news via the official 'Star Wars' YouTube account by posting a spoof video - titled "Will Warwick Davis Appear in Star Wars Episode VII?" - showing him sat by his phone waiting for a call from director J.J. Abrahams.
When he finally gets the call, the actor is heard saying on the line: "Hello Warwick Davis. Yes J.J. hi. Would I like to appear in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'? Let me think about it. Just got to check the diary, yep good."

Andy Serkis wants Quasimodo role

Andy Serkis wants to play Quasimodo.
The 50-year-old actor is known for portraying Caesar the ape in the 'Planet of the Apes' franchise and would love to use the same motion-capture technology to take on the role of Hunchback of Notre Dame after being inspired by Charles Laughton's performance in the 1939 film of the same name.
He said: "I've always been a huge fan of Charles Lawton's performance in 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' so somewhere along the line I've always wanted to play that character."
However, the star - who portrayed late singer Ian Dury in 2010 biopic 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' - insists he doesn't ever usually set his sights on a particular role unless he has signed up for that specific part.
He added: "I only really think about things like that if they present themselves to me. Unlike films I want to make as a director, with The Imaginarium Studios I'm very clear about the story I want to tell as a director.
"Ian Dury is an example of a role I sought and we put that together because I was a huge fan of him and he really meant a lot to me, the process of working with his family was amazing."

Jon Favreau makes no money from Elf

Jon Favreau still hasn't made any money from 'Elf'.
The 48-year-old actor-and-director made the festive comedy - which stars Will Ferrell - in 2003 and despite the fact it is regularly repeated on TV around the world over the Christmas period, he insists it hasn't been as profitable venture as much of his other work, including the 'Iron Man' movies.
He said: "'Elf' which shows every year here, when I look at the paperwork, it's not making profit yet. 'Iron Man', that's a different story."
Despite an extensive filmography, Jon is most recognised for a six-episode stint in defunct sit-com 'Friends', in which he played Monica Geller's boyfriend Pete Becker, but he insists he doesn't mind the role overshadowing the rest of his work.
He said: "I love it all actually, the first time I came here [to the UK] I was promoting 'Swingers', about 18 years ago, I did 'Friends' right after that, and it was always as big, if not bigger here than the States, so the six episodes I did were my calling card."
