Amanda Seyfried pigeonholed after Mean Girls

Amanda Seyfried says she was "pigeonholed as the dumb blonde" after her role in 'Mean Girls'.
The 29-year-old actress, who has played a variety of characters, from a loved-up singing star in the ABBA musical 'Mamma Mia', to a 1970s porn actress Linda Lovelace, felt that she wasn't taken seriously when she first took to acting.
She said: "I was totally pigeonholed as the dumb blonde after 'Mean Girls'. But it's different now. And 'Mean Girls' was amazing for me, it gave me so much. I was 18, I had no clue what to do with my life; it was either mean girls or college, so it gave me direction."
The star, who started acting at the early age of 15 on 'As the World Turns', also revealed that she finds it too hard to watch herself on screen.
She said: "I'm too critical; it's a problem with me. I really should just be doing lays, because then I'll never be able to see [the work], I'll just live with it."
The 'Les Miserables' starlet had been dating actor Justin Long, 37, for just over two years now and seems to be in a happy place and ready to settle.
She told US OK! magazine: "I'm really, really lucky; he so light, warm and funny. It's really about being happy now and I feel like things are good right now."

Michael B. Jordan: Fantastic Four is grittier

Michael B. Jordan thinks the 'Fantastic Four' reboot is "darker and grittier" than the original.
The 28-year-old actor - who plays The Human Torch in the new movie - says the remake was inspired by director Christopher Nolan's take on the Batman franchise by offering a truer reflection of the world.
Asked what makes it different, he said: "I think honestly it's the tone.
"People want to see Marvel films that are a little darker, a little grittier.
"Christopher Nolan's Batman films changed the way we looked at superhero films. It didn't have to be so light, it could be more of a reflection of the world we live in."
And his co-star, Miles Teller - who plays Mr. Fantastic - believes the film also portrays more honestly the "traumatising" effects of their new superpowers.
He told Shortlist magazine: "There's definitely some of the body-horror stuff. If you're a young guy and all of a sudden you're covered in this elastic form and you can't control it, that would be traumatising.
"What we're doing with this movie, it's more gritty and real - it's not just super-fun and flying around blowing stuff up. Although there is plenty of that too."

Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One gets release date

Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi movie 'Ready Player One' has been handed a release date of December 15, 2017.
The eagerly-awaited release is based on Ernest Cline's book of the same name and will see Donald De Line, Dan Farah and Kristie Macosko Krieger sharing producing duties with Spielberg.
Previewing the movie, Dan Fellman, Warner Bros.' President of Domestic Distribution, said: "Any film from Steven Spielberg is an event film, so it felt right to date this thrilling new project from one of our greatest filmmakers for the holiday season."
Meanwhile, one of Hollywood's biggest stars Chris Pratt recently admitted he was in awe of Spielberg when they worked together on 'Jurassic World'.
Asked who he's most enjoyed meeting in recent times, Chris said: "Probably Steven Spielberg. Working with him and having him be a peer now is pretty remarkable. He's a guy who's an icon. I was never a film buff as a kid. I liked to entertain people and I liked comedy and I liked to escape with a movie now and then, but I knew who Steven Spielberg was.
"He was the first real celebrity director. Like the director you'd go see his movie because it was his movie. And 'Jurassic Park' was a big event for me.
"So working with him and just the idea that everyday the dailies would go back and he'd be sitting there watching them. And they'd be like, 'He really likes them!' And I'd be like, 'You're just saying that to be nice!'"

Taron Egerton being eyed for Robin Hood: Origins

Taron Egerton has held early talks about starring in 'Robin Hood: Origins'.
The 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' star is the man Lionsgate want to take the leading role in the movie about the popular folk figure from the late-medieval period.
Taron, 25, has rapidly emerged as one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood and is seen as the ideal man to assume the iconic role, Deadline reports.
His next role will see him star opposite fellow Brit Tom Hardy in the gangster film 'Legend', while he will also soon reunite with 'Kingsman' director Matthew Vaughn - who's assumed producing responsibilities - for the 'Eddie The Eagle' movie.
Despite his emergence as a fully-fledged star, Taron recently insisted his lifestyle has barely changed.
He said: "I'm going to my sister's school sports day. There are some parts of my life that are wonderful and it's amazing to get to go to cool events and award shows and things like that, but I think the outside perception is that your life just changes overnight and you wear Dolce and Gabanna suits and drive a Mercedes.
"But life's just not like that. I've made these films and I'm really proud but my lifestyle hasn't changed."

Fantastic Four director defends film

Josh Trank has defended his vision for the new 'Fantastic Four' movie.
The superhero blockbuster has been released to scathing reviews from critics, but its director is insistent it's not completely his fault, claiming he had a "fantastic version" of the movie in mind.
Seemingly shifting blame to movie studio 20th Century Fox, he wrote on Twitter in a now deleted message: "A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would've received great reviews. You'll probably never see it. That's reality though."
The film - which stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell - is the third attempt at a 'Fantastic Four' movie franchise, but early reviews have been less than generous.
The film's production was reportedly marred by production issues - with reshoots taking place in as late as April 2015, just months before the movie's release in August.
The director was hired to helm the blockbuster following the success of his found-footage movie 'Chronicle', which also starred Jordan.
However, it's been a difficult year for Trank as he has also been dropped by Lucasfilm and Disney after being briefly hired to direct one of the upcoming 'Star Wars' spin-off movies. It's thought his dismissal is due in part to reports of difficulties on-set during the 'Fantastic Four' shoot.

Emma Watson ‘uncomfortable’ with recognition

Emma Watson feels "incredibly uncomfortable" receiving recognition for her acting.
The 25-year-old actress, who's best known for her starring role in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, has revealed she never had a specific ambition to become an actress, suggesting it was a profession she simply fell into.
Asked if she ever wanted to be an actress, she told UK Vogue magazine: "I don't know.
"It's so hard to articulate ... It's something I've really wrestled with. I've gone back and I've quizzed my parents. When I was younger, I just did it. I just acted. It was just there.
"So now when I receive recognition for my acting, I feel incredibly uncomfortable. I tend to turn in on myself. I feel like an imposter."
Meanwhile, Emma is set to play Belle in the upcoming live-action adaptation of 'Beauty and the Beast'.
Following her casting, Emma wrote on Facebook: "I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'.
"My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx"
