Morgan Wallen ‘pulls music from consideration’ at the 2026 Grammy Awards

Morgan Wallen is reportedly not submitting his music for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The 32-year-old country star might be riding high in the charts with I’m the Problem still sitting atop the Billboard 200 after 11 weeks, but Billboard claims none of his music will be entered for any of the categories at the ceremony next February.

Hits Daily Double was first to report that the album was not going to be submitted, but Billboard was informed the snub applies to all his music.

However, any of the artists featured on the record, including Tate McRae, Post Malone, Eric Church and HARDY, won’t be stopped from submitting their tracks.

The Grammys are the only awards that didn’t block Morgan from submitting his work after he used a racial slur in 2021. The Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards took away his eligibility for a whole year.

Morgan hasn’t received any Grammy nominations for his solo work to date, only two nods for his Post Malone duet I Had Some Help (Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance).

After video footage of the incident circulated online, Morgan was also suspended from his record label contract and removed from radio airplay.

The Last Night later admitted there was “no excuse” for him using the slur and he was “mad” at himself for how much he had “messed up”.

He said at the time: “There’s no excuse. I’ve never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn’t the one going through it.

“And I think, for me, in my heart I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, ‘Damn, I’m kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn’t have said this, but I’m really not that guy.’

“I put myself in just such a s*** spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’ If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared. I wouldn’t have apologised. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me.”

Morgan joins a growing list of artists who’ve distanced themselves from the Grammys, following in the footsteps of The Weeknd and Drake – both of whom walked away after feeling overlooked by the Recording Academy.
