Moby selling drum machine collection

Moby is selling his entire collection of drum machines for charity.
The 52-year-old electronic music star is flogging his selection of vintage machine and confirmed he will be donating the money to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a non-profit organization which promotes a vegan diet, preventative medicine and alternatives to animal research.
In a video announced the sale, he said: "I’ve always been a little bit obsessed with drum machines, in fact I’ve always been a lot obsessed with drum machines… I’m selling them. Every last one."
The former DJ is himself a vegan and animal rights activist, and he admitted the Roland 909 model – which had a huge impact on early rave and techno music – was the toughest to give away.
He took to Twitter to make the announcement, and explained it seemed better to see the machines raise money for a good cause rather than "keeping them in storage".
He wrote: "Over the years i presumptuously believe that i’ve come up with the largest collection of analog drum machines in the world
"Instead of keeping them in storage i’ll be selling them via @reverbdotcom with 100% of the proceeds going to the @PCRM (sic)"
Moby’s latest charitable efforts come just a few months after he offered up all his beloved vinyl records on his online shop Reverb LP.
Speaking about his decision to sell his record collection – which also raised money for the PCRM – he previously said: "I’m aspiring to enlightenment, I try to see it as just sort of like, an example of impermanence.
"You know everything we love eventually goes away. So I’m like, ‘Why not be a part of that process and help an organisation I really care about?’ "
