Miranda Lambert wins two gongs at Academy of Country Music Awards

Miranda Lambert won two prizes at the Academy of Country Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday (02.04.17).
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter claimed the Album of the Year prize for ‘The Weight of These Wings’, and she also walked away with the Female Vocalist of the Year award.
MIranda – whose album was inspired by her divorce from Blake Shelton – spoke directly to her fans during her acceptance speech, thanking them "for letting me use my heartbreak and sharing it with me".
Miranda was joined on stage by producers Eric Masse, Glenn Worf and Frank Liddell, who praised the American star for articulating her personal anguish through her music.
Frank explained: "In the day and age of sound bites, I just want to thank Miranda for being willing to look deep in her soul and bringing her life into her heart."
Meanwhile, Brothers Osborne – the American country music duo composed of brothers T.J. and John Osborne – claimed two awards on the night, including Vocal Duo of the Year and New Vocal Duo Or Group of the Year.
Thomas Rhett won the Male Vocalist of the Year crown and he also claimed the Song of the Year title with ‘Die a Happy Man’.
