Miranda Hart’s Call The Midwife return

Miranda Hart will return to ‘Call The Midwife’ for a Christmas Special.
The 43-year-old actress took an extended break from her role as Camilla ‘Chummy’ Fortescue- Cholmeley-Browne BBC show in order to focus on her movie career but is set for a sensational return at Christmas and will appear in season six, according to The Sun.
Chummy was moved to a mother and baby unit while Miranda was absent.
Neal Street Productions said: "We’ve been bursting to share the news Chummy has left the mother and baby unit and is heading back to Poplar for series six!
"We’re thrilled to be once again featuring Miranda Hart and her fabulous blend of warmth, strength and vulnerability as Chummy gets to grips with the medical and social challenges of the 1960s."
Chummy has been a fan favourite since ‘Call the Midwife’ first began in 2012, however, she appeared in just two episodes in series four.
And she missed season five entirely due to work commitments, although Miranda had her own ideas on how to bring Chummy back.
She said: "I am very sad not to have been able to be involved in series five but, on the plus side, maybe Chummy can come back in the next series an enlightened, crazed 60s hippy, having an affair with Paul McCartney. Watch this space."
