Millie Bobby Brown ‘excited’ to be starring in Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Millie Bobby Brown is very "excited" for her debut film role in ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’.
The 12-year-old actress – famous for her role as ‘Eleven’ in Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ – has been cast in the creature feature sequel and cannot wait to get started on her first movie.
In an interview with ET Online, Millie said: "It’s my first movie. I’m really excited and that’s really all I can say, but it’s going to be great! I just had a really incredible connection with the director [Michael Dougherty]. I had a great meeting with him and you know, I just really love him."
Millie attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (29.01.17) with her ‘Stranger Things’ cast mates where they landed the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series prize.
However, Millie missed out on an individual accolade for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series as Claire Foy picked up the gong at the ceremony held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Despite being part of an acclaimed programme, Millie admits she is still getting used to fame.
Speaking about her rise in popularity since the show hit Netflix last summer, she said: "I have no idea, like seriously. I’m just boring old Millie and they like me somehow! It is incredible."
Her casting comes after the film was thrown into chaos after original director Gareth Edwards – who helmed the 2014 film, the 30th ‘Godzilla’ movie made – dropped out of the project.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary quickly secured the services of ‘Krampus’ helmer Dougherty – who is also writing the script with Zach Shields – and made allowances for the delay caused by Edwards’ departure by shifting the release date to March 22, 2019.
A ‘Godzilla vs King Kong’ movie is also being made and is scheduled for release on May 29, 2020.
