Mike Doyle joins Max Steel movie

Mike Doyle has joined the cast of ‘Max Steel’.

The ‘Jersey Boys’ actor will star opposite Andy Garcia in the live-action sci-fi film based on the popular toy manufactured by American company Mattel.

The plot follows teenager Max McGrath and his alien companion Steel, who combine special turbo-energy powers to become Max Steel.

Oscar-nominated ‘The Godfather Part III’ actor Garcia is set to play scientist Dr. Miles Edwards, but it is not yet know what role Doyle will play, Variety reports.

The 41-year-old actor, who will next appear in Clint Eastwood’s big screen adaptation of ‘Jersey Boys’ as The Four Seasons’ manager Bob Crewe, is best known for his roles in ‘Laws of Attraction’, ‘Green Lantern’ and ‘P.S. I Love You’.

The movie is being directed by Stewart Hendler, while ‘Thor: The Dark World’ scribe Christopher Yost has penned the script.

Ben Winchell and Ana Villafane are also attached to star, with production beginning last month for a 2015 release.

Mattel re-introduced the Max Steel franchise last year, launching the brand in over 150 countries with new toys, games and publishing material.
