Michelle Visage wants EastEnders role

Michelle Visage almost guest-starred in ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’ star revealed that she was close to landing a part in the BBC soap as Kat Slater’s American cousin but talks fell through after producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins left the soap.
Michelle told Good Housekeeping magazine that she preferred ‘EastEnders’ to rival ‘Coronation Street’, adding: "Only because I believe I am Kat Slater’s American cousin. I’m still vying for that guest role."
Jessie Wallace – who plays Kat – shared the interview online and wrote: "I believe this too! @michellevisage."
And Dominic revealed how close they had come to making Michelle’s dream a reality, explaining: "We discussed it – but then I left! @michellevisage and @JessieWallaceUK together? QUEENS. x (sic)."
Shona McGarty – who plays Whitney Dean – showed her support by tweeting "Omg! Yaaaas," while Kush Kazemi actor Davood Ghadami posted a face with heart eye emojis.
Meanwhile, Michelle has a complicated relationship with the BBC at the moment after admitting she is "gutted" she isn’t on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tour.
The star claims she "wasn’t asked to do" the live event, and while she admits there was an initial "complication with the dates", she would have "loved to" have been invited on the tour.
She said: "I wanted to do it. I wasn’t asked to do it. I think there was a complication at the beginning with the dates.
"But at the end of the day it’s going to be a great tour, I am not going to be on it. I would love to. I’m gutted. But again, it’s the way it goes."
Michelle was eliminated from the Latin and ballroom show last Sunday (17.11.19) after performing a Street Commercial with pro partner Giovanni Pernice to Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ on Saturday (16.11.19) as a tribute to the New York drag community.
The 51-year-old star played down speculation that she and Giovanni had been involved in reported feud, admitting she would love to dance with him again soon.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, Michelle added: "We had such an incredible relationship and this whole thing has been so much richer because of my partnership with Giovanni. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.
"I wanted him, I prayed to my mother or whoever else was looking out for me and I got the partner of my dreams. And we will continue dancing.
"I called him yesterday. He’s busy doing the pro stuff but I said, ‘Any hours you have, can we go dancing?’ "
