Michelle Visage set to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Michelle Visage is being lined up to compete on the next series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 50-year-old former singer has a massive fan base in the LGBTQ community due to her eight-year stint on the judging panel of the drag queen competition and BBC bosses hope that by getting her on the ballroom she will bring those fans’ eyes to ‘Strictly’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "This is a very strategic signing from the BBC as Michelle has a huge following, especially in the gay community."
Michelle is also known for her no-holds-barred comments on ‘Drag Race’ and it is hoped she will provide some great TV moments by firing back at any judges who criticise her steps on the show.
The source added: "Since she is known as the fiery judge on ‘Drag Race’ producers are pre-empting her clapping back at any of the harsh comments from the ‘Strictly’ panel which will make great TV."
Michelle has also been building a TV career in the UK and Ireland in the last few years and appeared on the 2015 series of reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and also sat on the judging panel of ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’.
Last year, Michelle – whose real name is Michelle Lynn Shupack – made her West End debut in musical ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’.
If Michelle signs on the dotted line for ‘Strictly’ she will join other rumoured contestants Tamara Eccleston, Olympic gold medal winning rower James Cracknell and Virgin Radio DJ Chris Evans.
Comedian Alan Carr and Welsh newsreader Huw Edwards have also reportedly been approached by the BBC for this year’s series.
