Michelle Keegan wants theatre role

Michelle Keegan wants to land a theatre role.
The ‘Our Girl’ actress hasn’t been short of work since she left ‘Coronation Street’ in 2014, but she has admitted she’d really like to expand her resume this year and bag a part on stage or in a big blockbuster – but the thought of it "terrifies" her right now.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday (26.04.18), she said: "I would love to try the stage, it’s something that I’ve never done. The thought of going out on a stage right now is terrifying. But I would like to challenge myself. I’d also like to do a film."
Since her husband Mark Wright moved out to Los Angeles to present ‘Extra’ alongside Mario Lopez, Michelle has been auditioning for acting jobs out there.
But she recently admitted that although she’d like to try working all over the world, she thinks British drama is more her type of thing because she’s a "northern girl" who misses her family and school friends.
She said recently: "It’s just not me, I’m not an LA woman."
Although she left ‘Coronation Street’ over four years ago, the 30-year-old star is adamant she’ll never forget her roots because it taught her a lot about her craft.
She explained: "People can be sniffy about soaps but I count myself lucky to have started on ‘Coronation Street’. The hours are long and you need to know exactly what you are doing as everything is filmed out of sequence. I think with Suranne Jones and Sarah Lancashire and Katherine Kelly we are finally learning to have respect for the grounding and experience it gives you. And it’s a family – you never leave. I still pop in when I’m in Manchester to say hello. I learned so much working there."
